I can see why Sukapon makes sense, being from the first Nintendo Fighting game and all.

That's certainly a no brainer, of course he'll return.
The only character(s) that have a slight chance of not returning are Lucario and Ike.
Even then they both probably still won't be replaced.

Better not take Ike.

I only would really want to see Dr. Mario and Mewtwo return to Smash Bros.

Except with Dr. Mario acting as an alternate costume for Mario.

EDIT: In terms of Plusle and Minun, there is no real concrete evidence supporting that they were intended to be playable. It is only assumed that it might have them in the coding.
