Would definetly love to see a gritty Solid Snake running around between all these bright and happy characters.

I don't want every clicking other because they want shadow or like cloud or something. I tried to think of the most likely 3rd party reps and the most popular ones (even though not all of them are exactly "likely" I suppose).

Honestly I would be excited if any of the characters up there got into smash 4. I'm curious to see what sakuai would do with bomberman or any of them really.

Plus Snake's crazy disjoints were fun to play around with.

Though besides him I voted Layton and Lloyd cause those are the only two I feel like are fitting additions, to be honest.

The thing is there is a better Tales of rep then Lloyd tbh, that'd be Cless due to him actually being the series icon, being on more Nintendo systems, overall vast moveset bigger then Lloyd's arte pool, and if I remember correctly he is also more popular then Lloyd in japan.

Except the director of tales didn't say he was going to ask for cless, he was going to ask for lloyd.

If Namco gets a rep it would be Pac-Man, though. He's a gaming icon, right up there with Sonic, Megaman, and Mario. Lloyd and Cless are cool and all but they're not iconic. Most people couldn't tell you who Lloyd is, but they know Pac-Man.

The most coherent comment so far, I'd also say Pac-Man for his gaming icon status.

cless is too similar-looking to ike, just palette swap and bam, ike.

although, personally i'd prefer asbel simply because his attacks are much more flashy than lloyd's.

There could very well be more than one Namco character in Smash 4. I say this because Sakurai told us not to expect "a slew" of Namco character just because they're co-developing the game which seems to imply that at least one Namco character will make it in. I won't be surprised if we see both Pac-Man and Lloyd.

Eh idk, I don't really see how Lloyd contributed to Nintendo's history all that much when compared to Sonic and Mega Man. Let's not forget that Smash is a series about Nintendo, not everything that was on a Nintendo console at one point or another.

Nintendo got behind Tales of Symphonia in a big way, which is why it sold so much better than the other tales games outside of japan. And I mean, at least Lloyd's best known game was published exclusively on Nintendo (outside of japan, where it was also on the PS2). Pac-Man is from arcades, and I don't think anyone associates him with Nintendo at all.
