Do you have any kind of competitive scene in your region? If not, do you have any ideas for starting your own?

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA for short) has quite a wide variety of gamers due to different exposures. For example, FIFA is popular in the United Arab Emirates because it's portrayed as a 'popular western game'. In places like Saudi Arabia, CS:GO is very popular because of the FPS competitions that were usually held using the Call of Duty games.
The Fighting Game Community in the MENA region isn't that big however, it has attracted many top players of mostly Street Fighter to fly in and practice with the best players of the region (including Rzr Xian).
Now, you might have noticed a trend here, all the games I have mentioned have a competitive scene. Many big companies and new local ones are trying to make the best out of this by making MENA's E-Sports world. This includes the FGC and in particular, Super Smash Brothers 4. This has led to new players joining our once underground scene and motivating long time players to work harder. Cash prizes for our current 'majors' can sometimes be up to $1000 dollars.
So with SSB4 and our older, more taditional game (Melee) still being played and worked hard on, a very small few play SSF2, and they do so for fun. In all honesty, the scene is growing at a healthy growth with people already knowing what SSF2 is and working hard on their main games. At the moment, I'd rather encourage these games rather than SSF2 because if this whole E-Sports thing blows up, Dubai (our current 'capital' for E-Sports) could (with the right time and effort) could be comparable to Europe's E-Sports scene.

tl;dr - SSF2 is known, E-Sports is growing, SSB4 is popular. No SSF2 scene for now.
