Side Spec nerfed, thank god. I'm no Sonic main, but the side-spec nerf was needed. Its movement is pretty hard to intercept/edgeguard though

TBH.... I need to know the function of sideB now... I honestly like the move artistically now but... competetively it's absolutely useless lol. especially considering sonics neutral and UpB...

and what are the devs waiting for to give sonics DownB chargeup frames a hitbox! C'mon get jiggy wit it lol.

I loved the sonic in the first betas, hated the physics in the later ones(It felt like sonic had wario/heavy physics and the jump was way too nerfed ?)
The current one is way better, the jump could be a bit higher but it's ok I guess.

I don't know why sonic's side special is that light attack(or was it called lightdash in adventure ?) I'd like a jumpdash move more than that(I think the beta had it, it's the sprite from advance with the yellow like flame effect). The current attack is good too, but please DONT USE THE FREE RIDERS VOICE CLIPS, if you want to have a "ready go" sound effect you could use the sounds from generations or from adventure, anything but the free riders sound clips(I could upload the clips from adventure if needed).

I don't know what happened to the jump sprite, why is it a mix of custom/non spinball spinning and spinball in one ? Split it up so that the normal spin(not the blue ball) for the first jump and the spinball for the second ?

Sonic's main moveset is good, good job on that, but I dislike some of the taunts:

The main taunt(you're too slow) has the annoying spindash sound effect played over and over, why ? It also uses a mix of the orignal sonic run and not the brawl run(I know that this isn't ssbb, but a real modern run or the brawl sonic run(some people made the animation for that with sonic advance sprites, so there are sprites for it) would work better).

Side Taunt is good

Now for the down taunt, why is it that generations adventure pose ? Because everyone hypes about that even if it already was in unleashed ? I liked the old spin way better, it also uses the old spin sound effects and everything from it. Some sprite parts of the pose are a bit off, some fingers and legs look too long and the eye placement looks wrong.

Overall I'm happy with the current sonic.

It's that way here because it was that way in Brawl.

That's because it works like in the classics but that doesn't work that well on the advance sprites because the non spinball sprites are way bigger.

Sonic's side special works the same way as Wolf's side special from Brawl. It's a quick upward dash that has a sweetspot at the end of it.

If you hit with Sonic Meteor, you can cancel into another attacks.

Also; I feel like if Sonic is going to get Wolf's Side-special, it should ask more like. Meaning, less start-up, and some better kind of benefit for landing the sweet-spot, like not going into helpless (or something else.)

Sonic's pretty simple, though he lacks combo game. Still similar to his Brawl counterpart, but with less speed and more power.

Pros:
Fast in general.
Throwing game is awesome, grab range is pretty lengthy too.
Quite a few KO'ing options.
Nair has transcendent priority.
^I'm begining to question this, Bomberman's dair goes straight through it. Unless his dair has transcedent priority too.^
Homing attack is a multi-purpose move (just isn't useful for combo'ing).
Downb is awesome for combo's, though lacks the priority Talis' Spin Dash has.
High Jumps.
Tech chasing game can be better than Marth's if put to good use.
Get's outta pressure easily.

Cons:
Generally big for a mid-weight.
Natural air speed STINKS, badly.
Vulnerable to more combo's and juggles for a mid-weight.
Combo game is average outside of throws and downb set-ups.
Sideb's high-risk/high-reward isn't worth it, needs more power so people will actually try to use it.
Slower in dashing speed, same speed as Falcon.

Other:
Recovery is average, though it an be situationally (yes I made that word up) extended.
Sonic is one of those characters who rely on hit-and-run tactics, but can play offensively of needed (just to be too eger to rush your opponent).

Overall, Sonic could use some improvements on his specials, but all round feels like Sonic should. Save the air speed and recovery length.
Though he could use faster dashing speed /:|
