There are really sad and lonely people in this world if they can replace companionship with a Microsoft Sam voice emanating from a doll. I don't think the designers of this thing ever heard of the uncanny valley, cause this hits the rock bottom of it.

Uncanny would seem like the perfect word for it, indeed. Also, please note that the diagram in that article has placed "zombie" in the rock bottom of the moving graph.

Regarding advancement, they'd be probably on par with the Israelis, even if the applications are totally different.

I think we were arguing from different kinds of advancement.

Viewing advancement in the sense of marketing, it is indeed true that porn is an important player.

However, porn contributes nothing to technological advancement, unlike uses like games, for instance.

About that, |~DVD~|, I'd say sad stories sell and sex sells, thus sad sex stories sell even better. I mean what? Also, referring to 9/11 is intended to make it patriotic porn.
