Well i Love the genre Tokusatsu. Im more on the Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Garo side of it though.
If you dont know what tokusatsu is -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TokusatsuKamen Rider - Tokusatsu show where the heroes are known as Riders. Created by the Japanese company Toei and was airing in the 1970's. Usually features a single hero. Later on the show "Kamen Rider Black" was adapted by Saban and s*** into "Masked Rider". Again later, the show Kamen Rider Ryuki(2002) was adapted into Kamen Rider Dragon Knight but by a different company.
Super Sentai - Also by the company Toei, A group of heroes known as a Sentai fight bad guys and monsters they create/send. later on after the 16 Sentai, "Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger" aired, it was adapted by Saban and morphed into "PowerRangers". Since then year after year after a Sentai airs its fated to get adapted into a Powerranger Show.
Fun Fact: Samurai Sentai Shinkenger is the Super Sentai where Power Rangers Samurai was adapted from.
Shinkenger=Baddass PR Samurai = a fricken joke.
Garo - First aired in 2006, Its an adult tokusatsu where the Heroes are known as Makai Knights and fight beings known as Horror to protect humans from being eaten. It had its Second Season and ended in 2011. It has another movi coming out in 2012.
For an Adult i highly recommend Garo. The fights are really cool and the suits are all armor type.
For a Teenager id say Kamen Rider. Its still a kids show but the shows untill 2009 had people regularly die in episodes, which showed how serious the enemies were.
And obviously for kids I'd say Super Sentai. The older sentais were rough but as years pass things get softer, BUT even though people dont regularly die and stuff most of the shows have a mature side and good story line to make up for it.
