I think he means the sprites in general.
The contrast seems to be rather high in them, giving them a weird glow.
The eyes probably look weird because you're only using two colors. Try adding shading to white of the eye. You can make the pupils little bigger too, but that's just a suggestion.

About the pupils, I made them like that, so the pigman looks like he's scared, but thanks for the criticism! I will keep it for later updates.
