Can I just point out. You want hand drawn comics, but you're excluding writing? As a writer with no artistic talent whatsoever, can I just say, what the hey, man?

B-b-but basic literature is taught at a very young age! Hell, we learnt about the different perspectives in writing in Year 3. And figurative language such as similes, metaphors and personfication in Year 3 too! What a world we live in...

Ha ok fine, there's a variety of types of writing out there, but word length will indeed be one of the restrictions.
