The issue is you're trying to watch it like a normal show, when it's not conventional whatsoever.

Maybe if you watched it from the right mindset and didn't expect anything, you'd come from a different standpoint and see it differently.

i watched some soul eater on netflix this one time while trying to pull a 2 day all-nighter,(fwi, i failed) it was effing hilarios i was laughing, (almost cried) then the next morning i woke up and started watching more... and i realize it wasn't that funny... prooving the point that everything is funnier when your half asleep? am i right or am i right?
my sister told me Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya is lame, and she loves shows like that. pokemon? really? first season=good, everything else...=sucks (fun fact pikachu the main pokemon of the show isn't even in the new game) haven't heard of the other ones yet :\

Hahaha, all of the choice save other is like entry level stuff. I can't think of a good entry level anime except maybe the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Try watching it in the original broadcast order otherwise, watch it in chronological order if you can't figure out the story.

If you want something more unorthodox, Bakemonogatari and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei fit the bill.

ok i will try them, THANK GOD! i was hoping the manga would be better (although doesn't that apply to all anime?) cause the anime was pretty stupid. unfortinuatly... at my local book store they only have 2,3,4
