Well, personally I want Shadow to get moved up to a playable character. His move-set can get changed around so they won't be clones/the same. I've seen some attacks from Shadow that could replace some moves that would make him the same as Sonic (Spin Dash is an exception).

Also, if he was playable, he could be the anti-protagonist rep of the Sonic series.

they won't make him playable, but it has nothing to do with moveset. sakurai clearly has no problem making characters feel unique, and he also has no problem with making characters similar in moveset if he wants to.

Honestly the controller layout for the Wii U is essentially the same as the 3DS.

Hopefully it will be possible for someone to develop a 3rd party gamecube controller.

Barring that, I'll probably end up using a classic controller.

Honestly Nintendo will probably develop gamecube controllers. They know everyone prefers them.

I'd probably stick to the WiiMote + Nunchuck setting should it be offered.

Why not play with a Wii U controller? It has two sticks and proper face buttons. What about the WiiMote + Nunchuck setup is better?

Personally I'm willing to give the WiiU controller a try, but I'll probably still prefer my gamecube controller in the end.
