Is SSF2 not a fighting game?

I classify ssf2 as a fighting game.
Just because something is/was used so casually by the FGC doesn't make it appropriate/right. It's unprofessional, its still being used in a derogatory way even if it doesn't refer to people, and not suitable on stream.

Sonic Thrust is good for spacing, but if you bait it it's easy to punish cause long endlag.

Everything has an answer of course, but Sonic Thrust beats so many moves, and lingers with a really strong hitbox for a long time, making it one of the easiest and best edge guard tools in the game. It has astounding priority and can really only be punished on whiff against most characters.. If it whiffs they are using it wrong anyway so whatever.
