i do think it's silly for the two systems to have separate stages but that's such old news it's not even really worthy of complaint anymore

either way, in my opinion, the paper mario stage simply fits better on the 3DS
as does paper mario in general

remember, despite the fact that there was only one paper mario game on 3DS, that particular game was also the most recent installment in the series
common sense

if the reason behind the 3DS having disparate stages from the Wii U is because of its graphical/technical limitations, it wouldn't make sense to have a paper mario stage on the Wii U just because anything paper mario related is going to be extremely easy to render—the kind of stuff the 3DS can pull off

of course, that doesn't mean the Wii U won't have one, but why would it when we have a 3DS that can do the job in a veritably more form-fitting way

I do agree with you that the 3DS with its 3D can probably make the stage look super nice, and that that may be the reason Sakurai made the Paper Mario stage for the 3DS, but on the other hand there are already 3 stages that appear on both versions (Wily's Castle, Punch-Out!! Ring, Battlefield) so we don't know in what way Sakurai'll jump. It's dumb to get mad over stuff like there not being a paper mario stage on the WiiU when a) the game isn't even out yet so we don't know the full stage roster b) more stages appear on both versions so who's to say this one won't be.

At the end of the day I'm just really glad we finally get a Paper Mario stage.

Amen to that last one. I've not played Paper Mario specifically but I'm glad to see it here and I'm glad to see some Mario RPG representation.

Not sure if these are good enough to "confirm" it but it's safe to assume that we'll be able to do it outside for glory. We better... no way am I playing palutena's temple normally...

There are screenshots of a stage in FD mode that had items. Can't remember where, but I specifically remember seeing it because it confirms you can FDify stages outside of For Glory
