For people who want to start making a game, here is the best 2 game maker's you can find.
But which one to take:
I'm posting to compare these two amazing game creators, and to which one you should take:

Description
Game Maker was created by Mike Overmars in November 15th, 1999. It has a basic coding function named GML, which can be easily imported into something called libs to pretty much make game making user friendly.

Pros
  • Very User Friendly
  • Basic Scripting Language
  • Comes with a some very basic libs
  • Separated by folders to keep the sprites in the system
  • Create Great Stand-Alone Executable
  • Timelines - Great for Cutscenes and other differences
  • Paths - Great for Racing Games and Smash Ball moving around
  • Basic Button-Pressing Functions
  • Make 3D Games
  • Have the ability to import animated pictures, and control the speed in one easy click
  • Easy Sprite/Image Editor
  • The ability to make platformer games really easy
  • Make a tileset any size you want - from 16x16 to probably even 54x24
  • Import Maps Easily
  • Ability to draw easy stuff such the health bar and variables
  • Make the loading bar more customizable than ever
  • Move anywhere on the 360 degrees angle
  • Change the screen resolution of the screen automatically
  • Full-Screen compatibility
  • Only a few MB
If there's any more, regard me.

Cons
  • You can only upload the game on Yoyogames, while flash can upload anywhere
  • The slightest mistake in GML can lead to impossible problem
  • Database can get pretty laggy with alot of sprites
  • You can't upload maps that are over 1400x1400 or 1000x1000
  • 3D can get tough to handle
  • Lite version isnt that good itself
  • Some user-created libs have some problems with the code, leaving you in an unexpected position
More I'll put when i find out one

Introduction
Adobe Flash was released in early 1996 by Jonathan Gay. With it's Basic ActionScript system and its really basic game and app creation, Flash is surely the best game and flash movie creator to date.

Pros
  • Basic Animation
  • Easy Scene Creation
  • Make Flash Movies - One of the best things to do to date
  • Make Great Flash Apps
  • Customizable Loading Bars
  • Ability to make cutscenes-also easy
  • A folder showing all the ActionScripts you can do
  • Motion and Shape Tweening making Flash games and Apps Amazing
  • Game Maker can make other apps, but is only intended for Games, while Flash can make Apps
  • Official Websites run on flash ex. the Pokemon Official Website
  • Timelines with up to 600 keyframes, Flash games will be easy to make
  • Games aren't executed like in Game Maker
  • Easy MS-Paint like editor to make drawing flash movies easy
  • ActionScripting is pretty much basic as GML
  • MX is only 43MB, the best you can get
  • You can host your game on loads of sites, ex. Newgrounds, ArcadeGames, GameGecko, ArcadeMuffin, etc.
  • Importing sprites is more basic as importing sprites on Game Maker
I'll post more as I get used to MX

Cons
  • I think MX cost $34.00, but other than that, CS3 cost over $700
  • CS4 Trial is over 1GB
I'll find more cons when I get used to MX

My Thoughts
Flash all the way. More Basic. Can be hosted in many many sites. You can get your popularity out on the interwebs as you create flash games. Flash games are really basic to create, although it is intentionally used for movies, games are pretty much the other main thing made with flash. Apps and etc can be used for your own website needs. And also, Flash is known more on the interwebz, and Game Maker is too user-friendly and too basic for starters. Flash stays on your web browser, as on Yoyogames, as you play a game, the game will send files to your computer that is contained in the game. It sends you over 1MB of files, too much to just play one game. Imagine playing over 200 games on the site. Probably more than 200 MB indeed, while in flash you can edit how much files they send onto your computer, you can even limit that to around 10kb, to even no files. So basically, Stick with Flash
Note:
To see your Yoyogames file of games you played on Yoyogames, go to
C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents\YoYoGames\

GM FTW.
Flash FTFW!

Question: How much is flash, if you have it tell me some of the awsome things that come with its program. (I tried flash on a Mac, but I was so confused when I used it, I couldn't make a game or where to start for that matter. :hmph: )

Flash is a professional tool which can be clunky if you don't know how to use it. GM comes nowhere near the quality of Flash.

It doesn't take that long to get started with flash. You just need to look up some tuts. Also, flash has more possible uses, imo thats what makes it much better.

You made me remember I was writing a long post about the difference of flash and game make; and in which they are similar.
I have to finish that thing.

Anyway, at difference of what you did, I suggest people to start with game maker, and if they seem to enjoy it, then go to flash.

GM and flash are both great programs. I currently use GM but flash has a little more capabilities than GM in making games. So flash is better. But I would still use GM because it can basically produce the same games as flash and have almost the same quality for only $20.00 or something, while flash is $700 plus tax and interest and things like that. But either way flash is a little better.

Just so you know, Adobe Flash was not originally designed to make games.

Try Visual Basic or Java.

Or if you want to make games for your Xbox/Zune you can use XNA Studio (which is basically C#).
