Still never played his game, but he looks like a fun assist to throw in. I imagine if he had been a playable character they would have done some stuff to update his look, his design just kinda strikes me as a boring samurai. There's nothing all that "Nintendo" about him

THANK YOU! Jeez, I'm pretty sure that everyone on SmashBoards is crying that he isn't playable, but I mean come on, at least he's in the game. First Japanese oly character in a SSB game since Lucas. |

except his game was recently released on the 3DS Virtual Console and he was in Samurai Warriors 3 and Nintendo Land, so he's not a Japanese-only character
and Lucas was in the most recent SSB game, so you basically just said "this is the first time this thing happened since the last time it was possible for it to happen" you tried, though |

i didnt know takamaru existed prior to him being announced in smash 4

He's such an odd case
Like next to nobody has actually played his game and yet he was a pretty popular pick for Sm4sh Based on... what? Other people wanting him? The fact that he was "likely" to get in, just like Chrom? It's not like his design is the most interesting thing in the world. It's bizarre. |

is he popular in japan? sometimes one region alone can make him viable for smash
little mac was popular in the USA moreso than Japan, and vice versa for Saki, the Fire Emblem characters, and more it is kinda odd though. perhaps it's due to the nintendo land mini-game? |
