Gal hobbled over to Amelia as she was glancing at the captain. From how Seymour treated her, she was possibly the greenest member of the crew, and he stood behind her and watched her for a few minutes.
"Is there anything you're good at?" He questioned.

Bleu-Nial opened her eye and caught sight of the weasel. After a delayed reaction she jumped back from the creature and glared at it, unsure of what it was and why it appeared.

Amelia looked up, wiping the sweat that had already began to form on her forehead with the back of her sleeve as she heard the old man Gal approach. Granted, she was sure she seemed to stick out the most in the eyes of the veteran seaman. She had failed to consider such things. Nevertheless, she had thankfully had some experience at sea at her father's behest.

"Well, I have fairly keen sight, and a rudimentary knowledge of reading maps," she said with a slight shrug, it was a behaviour she had observed that seemed quite common, "I suppose the captain believes my best skills serve here on the deck, ensuring that it is clean and the like"

Gal took some time to process the girl's response as he watched her continue to swab the deck. The skills she listed weren't too off from what most novice sailors possess when they first step on a ship. Odds were that she had more hidden talents than what she conveyed, but her attitude would never serve her well in discovering them.

"The captain may believe whatever he wants, but just because the captain thinks something does not mean it is true," he replied, annoyed. "He believes this is your skill set because you do not offer him anything else. You have no desire to prove yourself worthy of any other roles on the ship, therefore the captain does not recognize your abilities and leaves you with unskilled labor. This also means that though the captain wishes for me to teach you the ship, you aren't worthy of learning it."

Gal stepped away and slowly began to make his way to the captain to discuss the route and the plans for the voyage.
