Ok, this is not to insult anyone. It is to teach those who are new to the forums how not to be flamed and called a noob because of how they act.
So anyone new here, let's start with with what the word noob means. So many people use it the wrong way because they assume that the way they use it is correct.
A noob is someone who tends to be new, but gets on people's nerves, along with incorrect spelling and grammar with excessive spam posts. They don't know much, and get angry if they aren't praised for whatever they do. Even if someone else helped them with it or they didn't do much.
This will teach you how not to look like and sound like a noob. You will get flamed less and this will keep you from being flamed in the forums too often.
Steps to not being a noob1.You don't want to get on people's nerves too often. Try not to be a bother asking them the same question over and over. Asking questions like, "Hey when do Suuper Smash Flash 2 come out???????" tends to get on get on people's nerves. Notice the incorrect grammar and spelling in the sentence. I'll get to that next.
2.You really don't want to spell incorrectly, or use incorrect grammar. This makes you look even more noobish and this gets on people's nerves aswell. This also pertains to when you address someone. You don't have to address them by their full username. It just makes you sound stupid. Use a nickame. For example, don't call me Sergeant Frost. Just use nicknames, like Frost, or Sergeant. That sounds better when you post.
3.Don't make your username a fanboy username. WE HAVE ENOUGH OF THOSE. Examples of this is, Sonicdude1332, Knuxman, Kakashi_rules, Sasuke121356, Uchiha Blood459, Mariomixer. These are annoying and we don't need people like that here. Most of the time, these fanboys/girls tend to refer everything in a conversation towards what they are a fan of. WE HATE WHEN YOU DO THAT SO DON'T.
4.Don't spam unless in the appropriate section. Examples of spam: 1-3 word sentences. Incorrect spelling and stupid questions asked. This will lead people to getting angry with you and then you could even get into trouble. This pertains to post whoring. Don't make useless posts just to bring up your post count.
5.Don't insult or use homosexuality as an insult. Noobs tend to insult people when they don't get their way or are badly commented upon. ESPECIALLY don't insult veterans. Insulting them makes you look dumb considering they've been here way longer than you.
6.Don't call people noobs because of their post count. Being a noob depends on how long you've been here and your behavior. Also, don't call people noobs when you've only been here for about 2 weeks or so. You then tend to look even dumber by doing that. POST COUNT DOESN'T MATTER! HAVING OVER 1000 POSTS IN A MONTH'S TIME JUST MEANS YOU'RE A POST WHORE!
7.Don't use memes or participate in fads unless it's funny or you know what it is (even then don't use it a lot). If you don't follow this, you end up killing the whole idea of it and no one will bother to use it much anymore. At this point they will refer to you as a noob.
8.Stay on topic. Going off topic for a stupid reason is not needed, and you don't want to look noobish.
9.Try not to break the rules. Earning yourself a reputation of bans and warnings is not good. No matter how many times you apologize it won't help. So try not to break any of the rules in the first place.
10.If you are going to give ideas for SSF2, think it out first and READ THE POSTS BEFORE YOURS MAYBE EVEN PAGES BEFORE. ALWAYS READ THE FIRST POST ASWELL. We don't want useless, crap ideas like "A sonic stage in SSF2 would be cool. Make it plees
" Doing this is just stupid and we don't need it. I still feel I haven't stressed this enough. USE CORRECT GRAMMAR AND SPELLING!
If you follow all these steps, and make sure you follow the rules, you'll be fine. People will come to liking you and you will fit in fine. This will help anyone new here enjoy their time at Mcloedgaming!
