Favorite character: Knuckles

Favorite games: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, S&K, Sa2

(WARNING: This following statement will piss off Sonic fanboys! Read with CAUTION!)

I think SEGA should try to start pleasing the more hardcore fans now. I mean come on, look at these pathetic attempts for a Sonic game today! Unleashed? WTF is a werehog? Secret Rings? Yeah lets play Aladdin! Black Knight? Ok... Seriously? Really SEGA? You thought giving Sonic and friends swords was a good idea... All I have to say is I'll laugh when a kid accidentally stabs himself while running around with a knife... Another complaint is all these freakn characters. The only ones really needed IMO are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik, and Metal Sonic (MAYBE Shadow).

Woo, now that my complaints are over, lets take a look at what I think SEGA should do. :D

1. Make a Sonic 4 (or 5 if you consider S&K a Sonic 4) for virtual console using 16-bit graphics. I'd love SEGA, even through all there mistakes for this!

2. Sonic Adventure 3 for Wii, Xbox, and Playstation. Just think of a good 3D Sonic game again. They could also bring back the beloved Chao. Oh god, that's the reason I like Sa2 for Gamecube so much!

3. Make minimal spin-off titles. The Story book series? What a joke. Spinball, meh its ok. Rivals, I have to admit this actually does look fun but I have never played it before.

So I know I'll probably be flamed or something for this post, but I hope other people can agree with me on my ideals. I grew up on SEGA Genesis Sonic, not this crap we see on Wii today. (And for the record, I've never played a Sonic game for Wii or anything, but come on, any old-school Sonic fans can tell these aren't what we're hoping for from SEGA.)

soooo... you claim you hate all recent Sonic games but you've never played them? I'd respect your opinions if you played them and didn't like them, but I find it really ignorant to claim you hate a game you've never even played.

Well did you read the last part? I said that if you ask just about SEGA Gensis fan, most would say that those games look terrible. Also, if you go on just about any major game review, website like IGN or 1up, those games are graded with like a 5-6.5/10 or C+... Sonic & the Black Knight has a 3.9/10 on IGN! 3 POINT f*** 9 OUT OF 10!!!!!!!!!!!

And you'll probably say something like "Well you won't truly know if a game is good until you play it." I mostly agree with that, but if almost all of the major game websites give a game a low rating, then it probably isn't that great.

EDIT: I forgot to add this, but by modern Sonic games, I mean Sonic Unleashed, Sonic & the Secret Rings, and Sonic & the Black Knight. The Sonic Advance & Rush series (grammar?) were decent, at least SEGA were going in the right direction.

You can't have a opinion on a game you havn't played. Go play the games instead of listening to a bunch of other people's opinions. You might end up liking it. Unleashed wasn't bad.

Although I do agree what you said, I'm broke and don't even have enough money to rent it. But I just wish SEGA would stop trying to add new characters, forms, alternate stories and all that crap. I wish they just returned to what made Sonic popular in the first place, a fast platformer with everyone's favorite blue hedgehog.

But whatever I should of known that I would be criticized in a Sonic fanboy topic :-_-: Instead of you guys complaining that I said a Sonic game looked bad, look at what suggestions I have and discuss them?

Blah

I'm not angry that you don't like the games I just think your reason is stupid. You can't judge a book by it's cover. And this isn't a Sonic fanboy topic. This is a topic to discuss the Sonic the Headgehog video game franchise.

Why don't we discuss why ideas then? I mean you and the other guy that posted only talked about how I said that the "Modern" Sonic games look crappy.

A Sonic game like the first ones from the Genesis would be good. But in our days of 3-D and next gen then it would probably have to be a downloadable game like Mega Man 9.

@Spader: Sorry I forgot about Amy, she does deserve to be on there. And I also remeber Sonic CD now! Oh god I wish I had a SEGA CD to play that game. I only have the port on the Gem Collection Game.

I don't think your right about the Sonic Unleashed being Sonic Adventure 3. Wouldn't be called Sonic Adventure, not Sonic Unleashed? Where are the Chao? Even though the only Nintendo consoles they appeared on were Nintendo exclusive games.. lol... But still, who or what told you Sonic Unleashed is Sonic Adventure 3?! I'm having trouble processing this.

Even though it's form Wikipedia, it sounds legit.
Wikipedia wrote:
It was originally intended to be the third installment of the Sonic Adventure series and subsequently, at an early development stage, had the working title Sonic World Adventure, complete with work-in-progress logo. However, the development team began to introduce enough new innovations to separate it from the Sonic Adventure titles, and so a new title, Sonic Unleashed, was decided upon. It was then later revealed that the game's name in Japan would in fact remain Sonic World Adventure for its release there.

So there might be hope for an actual Sonic Adventure 3 :D
