What do you guys think Sonic's weaknesses are? maybe i'd say like predicatable recovery, and maybe not having the greatest of time in the neutral but i can't think of anything else right now.

I think he has a harder time than most when his opponent is at low percents.

Sonic has two primary weaknesses. One is the person playing him. In order to play Sonic effectively and to his maximum potential, based on my opinion, you have to have a very very strong mixup game and be able to read effectively. You need to be unpredictable and just let moves flow instead of relying too heavily on tech skill and combos. I see far too many Sonic players who don't understand that taking care of his speed is about as simple as hitting the shield button. If you do the same thing over and over, eventually the other player is gonna find ways around it.

His other weakness is a lack of kill power. I have no problem getting someone to about 90-100% very very quickly. However Sonic only has two real kill moves. His forward smash, and his back air. His up smash can count as well, but it is unreliable until about 120-140%, especially against the heavier characters, and it can be DI'ed out of. The only way you're going to kill normally is taking advantage of Homing Attack and Sonic's excellent recovery, or by hitting with either one of those moves.

Overall, Sonic is a very balanced character in this version, and while I'm probably not 'the' best Sonic player, he has very fair strengths and weaknesses. If anything, his spring needs to get nerfed to only have one on the field at a time or lack that transcendent priority. He has an excellent recovery, blazing fast speed, and everything he does makes you seem like a severe showoff.

Hey guys, RemPrower (who went to APEX) told me that Sonic's Air DownB has been changed to a midair spindash. How will this affect his metagame, his recovery, and whatever else? It's possible that you may be able to use homing attack out of it, so that's a plus for recovery since if so it won't send you into helpless, allowing you to follow up with a sideB or upB.

Depends on how it functions. I hear it's similar to smash 4, and if so the only thing you can do out of it is a jump. If you could attack out of it, it'd actually improve his meta game by a wide margin. If not, then his recovery will improve but he won't have as spectacular combo options as he has now. More of a hit and run character than the rush down character he is currently.

I do that too. And for some reason, im not gonna complain about sonics moveset or final smash, i got used to him. However, the sprite and voice though.
