Well i dont know enough about Ridley to suggest much, but i would love if he had a move where he grabs the opponent and drags them across the ground like he does to Samus in the SSE.

To be fair Thundaga most of my argument is based mostly on the SSB incarnation of Ridley. I only know enough about Metroid to not look like a complete idiot.

If Ridley's playable, he had better be a boss character and not a regular. To compare him to a regular character is just wrong.

I doubt they'd do that, or else Master Hand would have been playable back in Melee without glitches.

What I think he means is that the concept of the game is good as it is - You don't need to make it Smash Bros: Tekken (3D) or add gimmicks to make it better. He's saying it was perfected/completed in Brawl, so there's no reason to add features for the sake of adding features.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what he means, not "the engine is done"

I'm just hoping Mega Man gets in. Sakurai did say that he was negotiating with Capcom about using one of their characters and if ANY Capcom character deserves to be in Smash Bros., it's Mega Man--end of discussion.
