I actually think they're even. Sheik's too slow in this game and her recovery is horrendous. She can die at 40%.

As a Shiek main (ish), I kinda disagree with her being slow, She has decent land speed, and has enough air speed for F-air->F-air->F-air to be a legitimate combo at low percents. I agree with the recovery though. Unless that recovery is "transform into Zelda."

How is Sheik's recovery bad? I play her all the time and never get gimped, ever. In fact, I have way more shino stall kills than deaths from coming back to stage. And anyone can die at 40%. If Sheik regularly died at that %, you'd have a point, but that's very rarely the case. Plus you can switch to Zelda at any time and have god recovery. Non issue.

Now that you mention; why don't more people, or even I, ever try to gimp Sheik more? It feels relatively easy to setup because close-up she loses to many attacks. Some have an odd lacking in priority. Once you get her to use her mid-air jump, it's tough for her. Even transforming to Zelda is a large window of vulnerability.

Am I'm pretty sure I've gimped you at 40%, Sparty. I think I even have a replay of a couple moments.

I agree that priority is an issue well above recovery or speed for Sheik. But she has priority in her most important setup move, nair. After getting that in, you can mixup dash attack, tilts, or another nair to work your opponent into a position to get fair'd, which can kill around 80% near the edge and even lower off stage.

Because like Zelda Shiek's teleport (while terrible) is still a teleport and offers a period of time of invincibility.

But out of the 2 I would say Shiek is way easier to gimp since her teleport makes her vulnerable on start up and has some notable endlag. Also you're right about her aerials lacking priority outside of NAir(which has pretty long aerial lag making it a stupid option off stage.) But I'm also not a Shiek main so I'm just going off my brief transform experience.

But this is also the DK thread so we should probs stop talking about shiek and inaccurate tier lists. :xd:

Stupid maybe, but also stupidly effective at times. If someone is so far off stage that they can't be fair'd or even seen, I'll sometimes jump all the way out there and put out a blind nair. If it misses, no harm no foul. I can get back easily and even screw someone over with a shino stall if we're going for the platform at the same time. If it hits, it's usually just enough to keep characters from making it back. It's a free move. Also, if someone is hanging on the ledge, you can nair them back off every time they try to jump up. I do it regularly to good players, even like 3 times in a row.

Zalo, we don't get smooth games, unfortunately, so if you gimped me I was probably just sandbagging :D or effing up. If you have a clip feel free to post it because there's no way I'd remember that. Next time I see you online I'll go Sheik and we'll see how it goes. I'm sort of interested in seeing how you'd go about gimping me. What character would you use?

I officially apologize for thinking that posting a hypothetical tier list in this thread wouldn't derail it. Back on topic!

Does fthrow -> nair -> uspec actually work at certain percentages?

I've usually do fthrow>fair most of the time, never tried it.

That's my B&B, and that wrecks certain characters, giving you free kills. But that doesn't work all the time, and I've seen people use it to kill at percentages that fthrow -> fair can't (either because it won't connect, or because it won't kill)

Does fthrow -> Giant Punch actually work at 0% on floaties. It 0-deaths CPU's, so it would be pretty bad for Kirbs, Jiggz, and the like if it actually worked.
