Basically, it's irritating that the only section of the site that I've found where you can be more or less sure that the average IQ is above room temperature is the spam section.

What I'm proposing is the following:

1. A mod finds a post like this:
or

Poor grammar, poor spelling, obviously no clue what he's talking about, didn't bother to do any background reading, smiley rape, etc. Obviously either an incredible noob or a troll (the above post being a dramatization; in reality, there are far less obvious stupid posts), and didn't bother to follow the kind of forum etiquette you can expect from civilized internet-users.

2. Mod PMs user saying "stop posting like an idiot" with details as to why.

3. If user does not comply, second PM warning him that this is the last warning.

4. Should the user STILL not comply and is not showing signs of improvements, ban permanently.


IMO, kind of useful/necessary. I mean, think about it-we are FLOODED with terrible noobs due to SSF2. In some cases, it's no big deal. The noobs actually do create problems-the veteran users get sick of them. So yeah, doing something about it would be awesome. Just a rule to keep the posting standard above supersuck5000 (AKA way worse than 4chan).

Really? Look for examples of me posting like an idiot outside of the spam section. There's a big difference between "Posting like an idiot" and "not being part of the forum elite veteran nostalgic circle jerk".

Every post you make makes you look like an idiot. That first one in this topic, for example.

Putting "don't be stupid" in the rules will not make a difference, trust me. Admins/Mods will handle them and if action needs to be taken.
