True.

This isn't really helpful anymore.

That's not true. Beginners in flash (or the ones I've seen so far) usually start with AS2, so this is VERY useful to them.

If you want to learn AS3 at some point, it's actually a bad idea to learn AS2 because they do things in such a radically different way. Sure they share the same play(); and stop(); commands, but past that simple timeline control, they really are different languages.
See, most people seem to think AS3 is just a more complex, powerful version of AS2, but that really isn't the case.
I can go on to explain why AS3 is better, but you seem to be well aware that it is.

Does this really still need to be stickied? X2i is never here any more and the tutorials are REALLY outdated. He's using an old old version of flash and it's in Actionscript 2, not 3.

I think they should stay. I mean if you can get AS1 tutorials online, we should keep AS2 ones up. We gain nothing by removing them.

That said, you're free to make AS3 ones.

Yes but if someone wants to learn Flash, and they decide to pop in here to look for tutorials (I mean, that's what the section is titled), this is just going to slow them down more than anything.

In that case, a better idea would be to replace "Flash" with AS2, adding Flash where it encompasses AS3

Well either way, it's not a topic important enough to be stickied.

The links are from the archives, which have been down for months now. It's unknown when they will be back up.

Or if they'll be back up at all.
