So, one thing i forgot to mention

If spacies don't DI C. Falcons' grounded down-air, it will combo into falcon punch, which will kill them.

Possible-ish combos CF can do on the new patch. Tried these on stream, some of them with help from the chat (thanks for showing up).

first hit N-air > grab
first hit N-air > jab > grab
first hit N-air > gentleman > U-air (super hard to connect, feels like a frame perfect input) can probably be DI'd out of too I'm guessing.
first hit N-air > F-tilt
first hit N-air (cross-up) > F-tilt
first hit N-air > D-tilt

D-air > U-air
D-air > F-air

N-air > U-air
N-air > F-air
N-air > D-air

U-air > U-air…
U-air > N-air
U-air > N-air > F-air
U-air > Dash attack (probably only at low % or DI down or down/away) could probably cover tech attempts, tech in place, or tech roll away)
» most U-air combos use the first couple frames of U-air in order to chain the moves reliably

falling B-air > grab

Down-throw > regrab
Down-throw > regrab > Down-throw… (no DI)
Down-throw > jab (DI in) > grab (low %)
Down-throw > F-tilt (low %)

Up-throw > U-air
» any other follow-up can probably be DI'd out of.

Overall, it's kind of hard to write-up one of these lists for CF specifically because A LOT of his combos rely on the other guy's DI being wrong. Most of the combos listed above are a good start for BnB combos. CF feels kind of weird and has to work harder than most other characters for actual combos I feel… what I dislike the most actually his the amount of hit-lag U-air has; it doesn't feel good at all to me (and I know this happened to other characters, namely fox's D-air). hitlag ends up making characters feel super sluggish, which is why big fat characters like Bowser and DK usually have hitlag on almost all of their moves (adds to their "big and strong" impact). For Falcon — I don't think U-air needs this since it's supposed to feel fast and smooth, not big and strong. just my opinion. The other thing that feels weird is the strange pixel shift that happens whenever CF jumps, but I've been told that's being fixed for the next patch. if anything changes about CF, I hope it's the hitlag being toned down or removed on the U-air first.

I'm sure there are more combos, but these are the ones that feel humanly guaranteed. in online mode input lag though, some of these may feel a lot harder because of the lag or a lot easier because of the buffering.

Catch my stream at twitch.tv/TAC3 whenever I do another one of these streams to figure out basic combo stuffs with characters. Just trying to find these out so I don't get 2-0'd in my next online tournament lool

I'm sorry for being rude TAC, but I'm quite positive Falcon could do that all before this patch.

But I very much agree with you on your last statement: the glorious thing why to play SSF2-Falcon is that his overall combo game and speed-stats are faster in ratio to Melee-Falcon. Giving him higher than usual hit-lag really diminishes the best part about playing him in this game.

Nah man you're not being rude lol.

I'm aware that CF was already able to do a lot of these links, but I personally haven't seen anyone doing most of them in tournaments. This is especially true for myself since a lot of these combos in the list are combos I would never bother doing in the first place (mostly looking at the use of F-tilt since I picked up a bad habit of never using F-tilts on any characters because I thought they were all crappy in demos before say 9B era). The reason I decided to post this incomplete list is because I figured it wouldn't hurt to do so; hell, it might even be useful for people that either want to get into play CF or current CF players that didn't know one or two of these combos. I was also kind of hoping that my post would spark a more in-depth discussion since I feel most or all of the forum posts lack anything to build a conversation from.

That being said, I'm REALLY happy you agreed with that last statement because it described my thoughts and feelings perfectly. CF would feel more fluid to play if the hitlag were toned down some.
» EDIT: just got the 1.0.3.2 patch and it feels like this was fixed(?) so I'm happy about that now. (please let me know if the hitlag wasn't changed and I'm going crazy btw)
»» EDIT2: yep, definitely changed. change noted in the changelog :colonthree:

As a final note, I'm really trying to get back into this game since I can finally play it on my awesome campus wifi (yay high latency being fixed in Beta). The stream I had went pretty well from what I could tell, so I think I'm planning on doing it again on Saturdays or whenever feels like a good time for the weekend (Fridays are also cool). I intend on expanding and adding to this initial list I had going, and hopefully, more conversation can develop. might also be fun to help build up a better understanding of Falcon's playstyle, maybe invent some cool combos along the way with the community's help. The last thing I want to see in my tournament brackets is lame falcon players, and I also definitely don't want to give in to playing like an uninspired, combo-less klutz, so doing this helps me avoid that LOL.

Kinda think his CPU AI needs to be updated...

Annd they can't get back up once they use falcon kick.

Don't know if anyone's found this before, but i was messing around in an online lobby and discovered some useless tech.
With :captainfalcon: , if you jump and down b at what is probably the same time, you can make him do what i think is his land animation and have no hitbox.
Doesn't help much when you're bored, but yeah.

Just labbed it. It only gets that result if you input falcon kick during :captainfalcon: jumpsquat. It could be used as a momentum cancel in neutral such as ichigo's iteration but it has too much endlag to be that useful.

To me his skin looks a bit orange, but i guess it's because of my screen's coloring.

Yeah, but it does look less orange the before. Also, does this mean Falcon resprite? I would like that as I Dslike his current sprite.
