Bump allowed... I think. I'm still active, but not as much as I used to be. Here's my last work: Kuma

I can't quite figure out what's wrong with the shoulders though...

Really?
I kinda like the shoulders.
Unless you were aiming for more of a tougher, to which you should of made his shoulders smidge higher up.

The shoulder's shading gives the impression that its almost like a doll/figure. It needs to connect more to the rest of the shirt coming up.
For example: Arel, in his sig, except maybe more rounded for your character.

I did base it off some action figures, but yes, I do think that you are quite right about it. Now to fix it.

In the meantime:

I know the shading is horrible yes.

His right arm throws off the pose.
You should make it similar to his other arm.

The shading is inconsistent. The colors are boring. Go contrast and hue shifting.

Incredible King K. Rool sprite, dude. The only real flaw, I think, is the shading, but only in a few parts.

The green almost never changes hue. The stomach color has poor contrast. Black outlines. No shadow shading. Pillowed. Dull and boring. Needs anti-aliasing. Stomach skin thingy doesn't need an outline.

Truly, I think you're very biased in the sense that you're only accepting of things that match your personal preference.
If you look at it from an unbiased view, the only problem is in the shading. Light source gets kinda confusing around the torso/arms area.
I think the pallete works fine, but a little more contrast in the gold would work wonders for that crown.

I can predict someone's comment:
"You think the pallete's fine because your palletes are just even worse."
Such a predictable little forum...

The palette is bad because your palettes are bad.

The palette is very bland for K. Rool.
With his normally vibrant colours and overall vibrant appearance.

The shading is... pillowed?
I expected more from you Damian.

I know, I ashamed myself.

Anywho, I tried to give K.Rool more contrast, better shading, better arm and an overall better pallete:

I'm still working on some things, such as the belly pallete and it's outline.

Thoughts so far? Critique, suggestions, opinions?
