DLC was already announced for the 3DS. If you look under save files in options you can find a catagory for DLC (add-on content). Because they may or may not see a need for DLC, if the game is content heavy enough.

^This.
I hope we get lucky and get DLC and heavy content in SSB4, even though it's highly unlikely.

Hell no. If we are going to get DLC, it'll probably be only costumes, music, and stages. No new characters or anything like that.

wat
I'm doubting they would give us music without characters tbh.

I've looked up the game and im taking a guess and thinking DLC means downloadable content (correct me if im wrong) but what knowledge i have extracted is that: The game in itself is not in development as they are putting finishing touches on the new kid icarus game, it's permanent title may be Super Smash Bros. Universe, will be available on both 3ds and wii u suggesting that it will be released in mid-late 2013, apparently able to make custom characters and transfer them through the 2 systems, have inter-console/handheld wireless and wifi connectivity... yeah im out of things to say other than im hopeful that midna will be in the game as a playable character. begin discussing!

Lolololol it doesn't take a year to make Smash Bros. My guess is late 2014 or early 2015.

I'm doubting that music would guarantee characters.

yes, but as sleep was, and is eluding me keep in mind that i am only on this at like, 10:30pm onwards, and i'm aware of how long a game usually takes to make amd since were talking smash bros. on more than one system they may take as long as skyward sword took. im fairly new to this so just leave me be. On a second note, thats the only thing u got from that?!?!

If we get a new character through DLC, I doubt there wouldn't be a song or two with that character.
Especially if the new character doesn't have a song already in SSB4.

What I was getting at was that they probably wouldn't give us something so small as music DLC as opposed to any characters.

If it has heavy content, then why not only music?

I think SSB4 will have DLC for both systems. They will probably have everything, like characters, levels and music. The reason being is maybe they don't want to make another SSB right after SSB4. The game will be like a SSBM to SSBB, not that many more characters and levels, but still a big improvement. They will add more to this game to keep fans happy, instead of just creating yet another SSB. Now I'm not saying this will be the last SSB, I'm just saying this will be the newest one for a while, so they will have DLC.

I doubt that DLC will be heavy content.

Just my personal opinion.

The DLC might not have heavy content, but it would be nice to have something extra to add to the game.

I think that they should just release a large expansive game, that won't -need- DLC to feel full.

I second with Ramsey, here. Smash Bros. shouldn't have or need DLC in my opinion.

:\ Too many things to say to that. I'll just leave it as...

What the hell are you thinking?
