I won't say I'm against it, though the nice bright white of the backroom was definitely a nice aesthetic change from here... Do you think it will get more activity if moved?

Great idea. The BR needs more members anyway.

I don't see how activity is supposed to increase by moving them here. If the forums are private, you'd still be in the same situation that forum is in presently.

If activity is what you seek, s**** would be the best means of going about it.

I can see the appeal of moving them here. Personally I think it's a pain to check into multiple websites so I would be less inclined to post somewhere other than MG. Plus this is the official home of SSF2, might be cool to have the usergroup dedicated to intelligent SSF2 discussion housed here as well.

It would probably be a visible section, so everyone can read through it's goings ons, however.

Personally, I think it would be better to have them here, members could actually pay attention to the request made by applicants, becuase let me tell you I was the victim of at least 3 declined applications, why? not because I'm not cultivated on the Smash-ambit but because I never really knew when they ever replied to my responses and answers, therefore, they were considered as abandoned appliactions and ultimately were declined. It sucked greatly to do the damn introduction for the application all over again.

I would also support to give it a more original name, something that reminds what the forum would do, without actually being called the Smash Flash Back Room, maybe a parody or something.

That is definitely a valid reason. Convenience would lead to greater activity, as one would not have to alternate between boards.

So is this still on? I'd love to see this happen to be honest.

Also, just something I'm thinking about.

I say this forum should remain largely private. By that, I mean we could have one or two public boards, then the rest would be private. Not trying to be "elitist" here, just addressing a issue that came up to me.

It seems to me as if most people new to a game are intimidated away by a overly professional/ technical/ elite community. They're probably more comfortable talking with people who they can associate with. As such, I'd prefer that those new to the game do not pay too much attention to the Back-Room, which is the main reason that I would like it to be private.

If you're suggesting that any portion of the back room should be hidden I would disagree. While there are fans that might be intimidated, there are an equal if not greater amount of fans that want to learn. And there should probably just be one board, but multiple sub sections if you need.

I would disagree with you, Ramsey.

To be honest, the BR's application system only allows the best of the best to get in, to prove they have what it takes to discuss competitively. If the Br's discussion is open, anyone who would want to apply for the BR would just get their info straight from the source, and the point of the application will be missed.

I'm not sayng it should be public for everyone to post in, im saying everyone should be able to view it.
