Edited and removed.

This is probably obvious but I wont be attending future X tourneys unless the forced stream rule is abolished

If you try the stream and it lags, the match should be allowed offstream

Shame, because I expanded the Kyoz/Lunary addendum since X3 to allow all sets, but it must be explicitly requested by the player to the TO, and the other player must agree. Alongside that, all replays must be saved. I'm probably more strict on this rule that the X Rule itself--if replays aren't saved I will make you redo the set.

so if I request it and the other dude agrees I can just play offstream? shouldn't that be listed in the rules somewhere?

That is the intention.

I'd say real-time streaming is a no-go for the foreseeable future. Just stick with streaming replays and we'll all be good.

Then what's the point of livestreaming if it's not live? There's also the unenforceable failing to save replays. Bloody replays... I may as well quit streaming and tell everybody to save every replay or redo the entire set. Oh god that would be a nightmare.

But you're providing live commentary, yeah?

Anyway, it was just a suggestion. Doesn't mean that I'm not gonna totally implement it in my next tournament though.

I think the concept of livestreaming is fine: I've played double games with better connections than singles ones, so especially if one player just kills themselves it's possible to make it work.

We as a community need to think about how to deal with not saving replays. We've had unfortunate he-said she-said battles over who won a game or whatever, and we need to think about how to deal with these. In all honesty, I support the following:

1. TO discretion matters the most. Players that we know get the benefit of the doubt. If Dark Ermac plays some random and they get into a disagreement, who is more likely to be telling the truth: someone who has been in this community for years and has played many tournaments and organized many without problems, or someone we've never seen before named f***? It's imperfect, but I think this is the best way to deter trolls and cheaters.

2. In cases where we can't make a decision based on this, I vote a spectated 1 or 2- stock playoff for the set.

commentating replays is mostly the same - it's just like having an extra couple of minutes stream delay (the time it takes for the commentator to download the replay)

as long as the winner doesn't get revealed early, it's cool (which is why players should keep set discussion in PMs)

OK I'm a bit late here but... Are these local tourneys or online tourneys and if they are local, where are they usually held?

These are all online tournies. There isn't really an offline scene for this game since the people that do play this game are spread so thinly.
