Probably just to showcase the Shunpo effect like his Dash and Down attack. I mean granted those two have great range, but are a bit slow to execute. His Dash attack in particular has slight lag in both the beginning and ending frames. Also does it have invincibility frames when the shunpo effect is active or no?

While Ichigo is invisible I'm pretty sure you can't hit him.

Not always. Aside from his Side Special I can't fully recall if his other moves also grant invincibility frames. I know double jumps don't though and are just there for an effect.

Ichigo has a wavedash! Not just any wavedash, it makes him faster than any character in the game! I can not screencapture it right now, but an immediate Fair cancel on the ground sends Ichigo FLYING across the stage like Samus' bombdash in melee

Old news but cool that you figured it out by yourself. Experiment a little bit, he isn't the only one.

I'm having mixed feelings on his D-Special. I mean it's great for edge-hogging and all, but using it in the air to let it build up power really sucks when there's barely any KB behind it. Hell your opponent can easily counterattack after being hit (unless you drop far above the screen after Bankai ends XD). In fact, it feels like he doesn't have a lot of counter plays because of his fast fall speed and D-Air being disjointed. Yeah I recall it being possible to do that...and accidentally kill yourself. XD

I do down special from the air, but its not the knockback that's the problem, its that it doesn't put the opponent in hitstun.
If it did that, then I would be happy.

Bruh. I just now realized how amazing down special is. Combos, setups, mixups, kill confirms (maybe?)
I know it's only training mode I'm looking at, but an unexpected D-Spec would be dangerous in general.
SH D-Spec is scary asf looking, to me at least Doughnut.

Only problem is that you have to time it right, which is a little hard with Ichigo's fall speed. ...well it is for me anyway. I'm still working on combos with his D-Throw.

Actually, the only confirm I can see is SH to D Spec to Uair (50%+ window), but the opponent must be on the ground. I do find Ichigo's D Spec very useful though. It definitely has more uses than you'd think, but I'm not good with explaining how to use it. On the ground, you can sometimes squeeze it in right before an opponent can grab you (so any move I do that has almost no end lag that the opponent tries to shield grab). In the air, reversing it always can throw off the opponent (and you drop faster at any point of the fall for another mix up), then also I can grab or up-tilt once I land, giving a small/no window to grab/attack.
