This story can turn nasty. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing.

Doesn't wikileaks count as a media outlet? Pretty sure they're protected from being targeted for publishing such facts.

Then again, it's America, so yeah.

The fact they covered up civilian deaths would seem to me that they are rather hypocritic when taking the moral line against Wikileaks. But those are just my thoughts.

I would indeed expect journalist protection, but I'd say it would depend on the way they got the information. If they actively searched for moles, I can see it is a rather shady practice.

America talking about the moral line is always suspicious, though.

As for how they gained it, according to a news report that I saw when this first burst loose, the mole made contact with a hacker, saying that he wanted the information to get out. Of course, that could be complete and utter BS, since this was like, right before it even featured in the newspaper. But if that is true, I highly doubt that wikileaks was ever even in direct contact with the mole, let alone any proof that they convinced him to leak that information. But meh, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It is important that the cover-up of civilian deaths has been leaked, so I applaud him for that. For leaking military tactics and the names of people who worked with the allied forces, that is just nauseating.
