No, it was not Warhammer 40k, I would have remembered that, it was original content as far as that is possible in science-fantasy. :P

But I completely forgot about the game, so I don't think I'll remember.

Shadowrun? If I remember, it did have magic and science mixed with various races, though I don't play the tabletop game, or the games themselves.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone's so shocked about this delay.

The "5-year generation" idea is a fallacy, as indicated by the NES's 10-year lifespan, the 4-year gap between the NES and the Genesis, the Sega pseudoconsoles throughout the early 90's, the 2-year lifespan of the Dreamcast, the 8-year lifespan of the PS2, the 4-year lifespan of the Xbox...

If anything, the generation lifespans are indistinguishable, as each generation experiences at least a year of overlap with the former and latter generations..

Nes had a lifespan of either 7 or 15 years (7 if you count until the SNES was made available, 15 if you count until it was discontinued)

Heck, the PS2 is still being produced, and I think there was a game released for it not long ago.

Nintendo's Wii isn't gonna last long, Xbox has a good couple of years left in it, and the Playstation has been built to survive the fall of a civilization.

The Dreamcast never died.
Them Crazy Japs continued to make games for it.

Actually, it's dead now. They stopped.

Homebrew doesn't count.

The last game I recall was in 2009.

also LOL homebrew.

Actually, I think Nintendo can't afford releasing a successor to the Wii soon. I think their demographic is less prone to switch consoles as quickly as Sony's and Microsoft's.

Of course, maybe this will just lead to a more gradual transition, with support for the Wii going alongside support for the successor, since games are the things that make the money, but since it hasn't been announced, we can be assured that it'll take more than two years for that phase to start.
