yeah I know that this was kinda random but I was kinda just thinking about after there were some fake images I saw on a youtube channel that someone else saw. But yeah they probably still won't because of the 3DS but just imagine if they did for the wii u and how crazy awesome it would be. I kinda feel like the 3DS version should still be able to port them into the game. I don't really believe the fact that they can't have ice climbers but they have Rosalina and luma.

Its been explained already that Luma isnt as complex as the partner Climber, for one, Luma doesnt have any AI (other than its movement relative to Rosalina) and is directly controlled by the player.

Also keep in mind that Ice Climbers wouldn't work on Wii U in its current state either. Every stage would need to be compatible with 8 player smash, and that mode would have to be removed entirely because it becomes 16 player smash with all Ice climbers (that or lock them out of that mode, both of which are terrible ideas)

Ice Climbers will never be in SSB4 without major changes to their character

Reminder that they said they had Ice Climbers functional on Wii U with no issues, and that the problem entirely stemmed from 3DS functionality. Saying they wouldn't work on Wii U because of 8 player smash is definitely a reach, considering the huge gap in hardware.

Plus the fact that Ice Climbers were cut relatively late in development according to word of god (given how much specific data excisted before that was patched out).

Sakurai doesn't seem like type to cut characters like Ice Climbers (or characters in general really) willy nilly, they probably tried to work around the problem for a long time before concluding it simply wasn't feasible.

The Wii U already can't support 8 player smash fully. Half the stages couldn't be used in that mode when it launched

They ALL need to be compatible in the event of 4 players picking Ice Climbers

Not having to worry about the technical limitations presented by Ice Climbers is probably why we have 8 player Smash to begin with, and why the game focuses on it so heavily. Once the decision was made to only allow some stages, they were able to have the other stages be more visually/technically complex as well, resulting in stages 8 characters (4 Ice climbers) couldn't work on

What I'm saying is: In a lot of ways Smash 4 is outright designed around the Ice Climbers not being in the game

Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that there's no gap for the Ice Climber icon data on the discs

it's not really

having eight players at once is not the same as having four players + four CPUs

Sakurai said they were fully functional on the Wii U and only cut because of the 3DS version

the idea that they were cut because they weren't working on the Wii U is pretty ridiculous

the Wii U version also doesn't "focus heavily" on eight-player mode at all. there's more to the game than the s*** Classic mode

tl;dr trying to say the ice climbers wouldn't work on the wii u is stupid. they were cut because the 3DS is a piece of s*** and saying the wii u version of the game is "designed around" the ice climbers not being in just because you can't use certain stages in eight-player mode is also stupid

also just before anyone yells at me because i said the 3DS is a piece of s***: i just mean hardware-wise, it has plenty of good games despite that
