About 20 years after the defeat of the Animorps by The One, The war between Andalites, and Yeerks was over. Or so it seemed.... A Yeerk controller (Working under the One who had been thought long gone) had taken over the mind of the president, and was attempting to destroy the entire universe with a weapon. The Red Box. The polar opposite of the Blue Box which gives humans Andalite powers. Instead of granting the ability of acquiring DNA, the Red Box takes all DNA (Aquired, or Naturally held) from whomever its beam hits, permanently erasing them from time as if they never existed. A ragtag force of civilians dug up the original Blue box buried in the rubble of the Animorphs' Blade Ship, and gained Andalite powers themselves. But now... the Controller that has the president's mind in his evil hold has also recruited a team... An army of Yeerks who no longer wish for peace, and want nothing but to conquer earth. (Plus all the Kandrona waves they can absorb) And has rebuilt the Yeerk Pool. Source of the Yeerks' source of life. Kandrona. The humans, and Andalites have teamed up to destroy the rogue Yeerks with their grand gift of morphing. This battle will decide the fate of not just earth, but the universe... But the question still stands... can they handle it?

PM sheets please.

You can only morph something which you have acquired.

Andalites are prone to catching "The Sickness" Which requires surgery. In humans it resembles the flu, and doesn't require surgery. It is easily spread through the air.

Yeerks need Kandrona every three days. Otherwise they are killed off. To get Kandrona, they will recieve a "Password" once I accept them through PM to get into the Yeerk pool where the Kandrona is located. If you forget it, sucks to be you...

When a Yeerk dies, You can create a new char, PM me the sheet and reobtain the password.

(Note: The Yeerk Pools are located at McDonalds. Don't ask me Why K.A. Applegate put them there. I have no clue.)

Edit: Here is an Andalite:

Andalite Terms:

A compilation of Andalite terminology used throughout the Animorphs series.

Andalite Homeworld: The name of the native planet of the Andalites is not given in the series, and is simply referred to as the Andalite homeworld. It possesses more than one sun, which gives its sky a red-gold hue, and the planet is covered with less water as compared to Earth. The landscape mainly consists of gently rolling hills and plains, where the Andalites live in family groups and small tribal bands. More advanced civilization exists in the form of three great spaceports.
Aristh: Andalite word similar to cadet. An aristh is of the lowest rank in the Andalite military, and must, by definition, serve under a prince.
Derrishoul Tree: An asparagus-shaped Andalite tree.
Death Ritual: Ritual undertaken by Andalite warriors who are in danger of immediate death. It reads as follows; I am the servant of the people, I am the servant of my prince, I am the servant of honour. My life is not my own, when the people have need of it. My life is given for the people, for my prince, and for my honour.
Dome Ship: The Andalite capital ship. Shaped similar to a mushroom, a Dome ship features a large park enclosed by a dome at the top of the ship, with an environment similar to that of the Andalite homeworld. The three engines are located at the bottom end of the ship. The domed park and the engines are connected by a long, narrow shaft, which is the main section of the ship and houses the bridge as well as weapons systems. The pride of the Andalite navy, a fleet of Dome ships are said to be nearly invincible.
Enos Emarf: A word used to describe the way a tree is framed in water.
Elupera: A location on the Andalite home world.
Escafil Device: The device invented by Andalites which allows anyone who touches it to absorb the DNA of an animal and morph. Also known as the "blue box" or the "morphing cube".
Estreen: An estreen is someone who is superbly skilled at morphing. After they are imparted with the ability to morph, morphing comes naturally to them. Cassie is one such person; she can control the order and appearance of the morphing process and also morphs faster than the others, even Ax the Andalite (though it should be mentioned that Ax makes clear that the ability to morph has no bearing on which species the morpher belongs to). Professional estreens called morph dancers exist on the Andalite world for entertainment.
Flaar: An Andalite animal which smells similar to a human.
Frolis Maneuver: A technique for combining the DNA of animals to create a "blended average" of them. Used by Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul to create his human morph, and also by Ax to create his. Presumably, Visser Three used this technique to create his human, "Aria", morph.
Garmitof
Hala Fala: Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul's Guide Tree, a type of tree on the Andalite homeworld that seemed to be capable of simple communication.
Hald Wurra: Old Andalite for 'victory in three swipes'. It refers to a specific tail-fighting maneuver.
Hereth Illint: This Andalite phrase translates roughly to "burping DNA", and refers to the expulsion of acquired DNA that the morpher has an allergy to. This entails the creation of an entirely new animal from the expelled DNA from excess mass in Z-space. The "burp" is a response to the loss of morphing control caused by DNA allergies.
Hirac Delest: An Andalite's final statement, recorded that the Andalite's peers and posterity might judge and understand the Andalite's life and the choices he or she made.
Illsipar Root: A species of plant which can be consumed to ease the pain of Soola's Disease. Also a delicacy.
Ixcila: A electronic copy of a sentient being's brain waves, effectively saving their memories and personality. May be an Arn rather than Andalite technology.
Jahar: The disgraced prince Alloran-Semitur-Corass's custom starfighter, named after his wife. It is much sleeker in design than regular Andalite fighters, and possesses three engines instead of the regular two. Notable features include a grass-covered floor, excellent motion compensators, and emergency air hoods that give occupants several minutes of breathable air in the event of cabin decompression.
Kafit Bird: A species of bird of the Andalite homeworld with three pairs of wings, which affords it great maneuverability and speed. One out of the only three species of bird that exist on the homeworld, and widely considered the best.
Mirrorwave Call: A form of thought-speak used to communicate with other Andalites en masse and across great distances.
Modular Waste Disposal System: Essentially an Andalite toilet, encountered in book 14, The Unknown. The MWDS is the alien "vessel" stored at Zone 91, an Animorphs-universe equivalent to the alien technology supposedly concealed at Area 51.
Morning Ritual: An Andalite warrior, at the beginning of the day, performs the following ritual; They say "From the grass that feeds us" while crunching grass under their hoof, then say "From the water that gives us life" while dipping the same hoof into a body of water. Then, they say "For the freedom that unites us, we look to the stars." While spreading their arms wide. Then, they say "Freedom is my only cause, service to my prince, my only duty. The destruction of my enemies, my most solemn vow. I, (insert name), offer my life." This is the closing section of the ritual, where the Andalite warrior puts his own blade to his throat, and asks himself if he is doing his duty.
'Nothlit': A person that has stayed in morphed form for longer than the two-hour time limit; and is therefore forced to remain in that form indefinitely (barring higher interference, as the Ellimist has reinstated the true form/morphing power of Elfangor and Tobias).
Onkalillium: A type of Andalite organic medicine.
Plintconarythmic physics: The highest level of study in Andalite physics. Reserved for the elite in the Andalite scientific community - but Estrid-Corill-Darrath understands it perfectly. She tries to explain to Ax the functions and limitations of human speech in the 'n' dimensions, but it sweeps over the top of his head.
Prince: An Andalite military rank, it does not refer to royalty. Each warrior serves under an Andalite prince, variations include 'War-Prince' and 'Captain-Prince'. In the series Ax continually refers to Jake as 'Prince Jake' as the group considers him to be the leader of the Animorphs.
Quantum virus: A biological weapon designed by Andalite military scientists that can affect only one specified species. Such a virus was used on the Hork-Bajir homeworld near the end of the battle with the Yeerks for control of the planet by Alloran-Semitur-Corass, in a futile attempt to limit the number of healthy Hork-Bajir hosts for the Yeerks to infest. The use of such a weapon is considered to be ethically unjust by the larger Andalite society, most of whom believe that reports of the use of the virus on the Hork-Bajir are merely Yeerk propaganda.
Sario Rip: A tear in the fabric of space-time that causes one to travel forward or backward in time. An extremely large, intense concentration of energy is required to cause one of these rips. The direction and distance one will travel in time when using these is unknown.
Seerow's Kindness: An Andalite law that forbids Andalites from giving technology to any foreign species. Named so after Prince Seerow, who pitied the Yeerks in their natural state and taught them how to make spacecraft. The resulting destruction caused by Yeerk conquest made this one of the most important and fundamental laws of Andalite society.
Soola's Disease: An Andalite disease which causes blindness and muscular degeneration in its sufferers, culminating in a slow and painful death. There is no cure.
Shorm: The actual Andalite word for a tail-blade, although it is more commonly used as an equivalent in the Andalite language for 'best friend'. An Andalite is said to fully trust a shorm should he be allowed to place a blade at their throat.
Shormitor: Tail-blade carvings made by primitive Andalites.
Shredder: An Andalite built directed energy weapon. Although it is more powerful and efficient than the Yeerk-built Dracon beam, it is actually from this weapon that the Yeerk-built counterpart was developed. In contrast to the Dracon beam, which causes intense pain, the shredder weapon destroys its targets fairly quickly and painlessly. These weapons come in varying levels of intensity, ranging from simple hand-held sidearms to the main weapons used on the mighty Andalite Dome Ships, capable of 'punching a hole through a moon.'
StarSword: The Dome ship on which Elfangor serves as an aristh in the beginning of The Andalite Chronicles.
Torf: The torf is an andalite tail-fighting technique that involves using the flat side of one's tail blade to strike the adversary's temple. According to Ax, it isn't much use against stronger creatures like Hork-Bajir, but it will knock a human out cold for hours.
The Abomination: A term for the only Andalite Yeerk controller in existence -- Visser Three, who infests the body of Alloran Semitar-Corass.
Therant: A species of Andalite tree.
Thought-speak: Thought-speak is the method of communication of the Andalites similar to telepathy. The Andalites use this means of communication. Those who have morphhed using Andalite morphing technology can also communicate using thoughtspeak, but not in their natural forms. Thought-speak works on a level higher than words, so lingual barriers are not a problem.
Tria Gland: The tria gland is the Andalite equivalent of an appendix, located in the back of their head. Ax's tria gland became infected and had to be removed by Cassie with the aid of Erek King.
UAST: The University of Advanced Scientific Thinkers, an institution for the best of Andalite intellectuals.
Unit O: An elite Andalite military unit, specialising in covert operations.
Unschweet: A haircut given to disgraced Andalites. When an Andalite warrior commits a misdeed, his or her commanding officer uses his tail blade to cut off a patch of fur from the offending warrior. This bare patch serves as a mark of shame representing the warrior's offense. As the fur grows back, the Andalite is slowly redeemed by time and experience, until, finally, the incident is laid to rest and the warrior is whole again.
Utzum
Vecol: An Andalite with a disability, such as being without a tail blade. They are shunned from their society and often sent into exile, viewed as inferior and useless to society. The reason behind such treatment is that Andalites believe the solitude of a vecol is the only dignity he or she has left. Ax exhibits distaste for vecols. The term was introduced in #40: The Other, where a vecol is central to the plot of the story.
Wish-flower ritual: A ritual performed before the birth of a younger sibling.
Yamphut: A "morphing sickness" affecting the Tria gland that all of the Animorphs (except for Cassie) became infected with. Although it only causes flu-like symptoms in humans, it can be fatal to Andalites.
Yaolin: A curse word, used in a similar fashion to "what in hell" e.g., "What in yaolin are you doing here?!"
Z-space: Short for zero-space, it is the non-dimension through which faster-than light travel and communication is possible. A person in zero-space will see white, as opposed to the black of normal space. When morphing small animals, one's excess mass is extruded into zero-space. See also the Star Trek concept of warp and subspace.
Z-space transponder: A small electrical component similar to a diode that converts matter/energy into a format that can be transmitted through Z-space

OOC: Animorphs is an English language science fiction series of young adult books written by K. A. Applegate and published by Scholastic. The series was published from June 1996 to May 2001, and includes 54 books, along with ten companion books, of which 8 fit into the series' continuity (the 'Animorphs Chronicles' and 'Megamorphs' books) and two are gamebooks that do not fit in the continuity (the 'Alternamorphs' books). The word "Animorphs" refers to the protagonists of the series, and is a portmanteau of "Animal morphers". This name was coined by Marco, one of the main characters.

The series was originally conceived as a three-part series called The Changelings, in which Jake is named Matt, and his little brother Joseph takes the place of Cassie.

Animorphs chronicles the battles of five human teenagers and one alien youth who have the power to transform into animals as they fight a guerrilla war against a secret alien infiltration of Earth. The series is told in the first person, with a different narrator in every book. Applegate cycles through the books' six protagonists, telling the story of their secret war through each of the combatants' perspective. By using this method, she explores many of the dark aspects of the human condition. Horror, war, dehumanization, sanity, morality, innocence, leadership, and growing up are core motifs of the series.

The characters grow up throughout the series, struggling to cope with the horrors of war, the acts which they commit, and the compromises and retreats they must make to win the war (and sometimes, even just to survive). The series allows the reader to observe the human condition as these six "normal" children are forced by their new, deadly circumstances to face the darkest, and also the brightest, parts of themselves.

[edit] Development
In an interview with Publishers Weekly, Applegate talked about the source of inspiration for the "Animorphs" series: "I grew up loving animals and lived with the usual suburban menagerie of dogs, cats and gerbils," she said, "I really wanted to find a way to get kids into the heads of various species and decided that a science-fiction premise was the way to do this." Originally, the series was named "The Changelings".[1]

To develop the characters for Animorphs, K. A. Applegate would go through teenage magazines such as YM and Seventeen (both of which are referenced in the books when describing Rachel), cutting out pictures and piecing them together to get an idea of what sort of kids the Animorphs would look like. K. A. Applegate has stated in an interview online [1] that many of the names for her alien creatures, races, and locations are actually scrambled names of local street signs or companies that she happens to notice. For instance, the word nothlit was derived from the hotel name Hilton. According to the Anibase, K. A. Applegate did not make up the titles for the Animorphs books: it was up to the Scholastic editors to create the titles for the books based on the outlines provided by the author, having to select a word that not only fit the book's storyline, but sounded good with the characteristic "The" preface. One of the author's favorite books, The Lord of the Rings, lent several words and images to Animorphs: the elvish word for Orc, "yrch", became Yeerk; the flaming red Eye of Sauron inspired the Crayak, and Ax's middle name, "Esgarrouth", is the name of a town in the book. The Human name of Ax's Brother, Elfangor, is Al Fangor and his last name is in reference to the Fangor region or Fangorn Forest. Also there was a minor reference to Gondor, in the form of a fictional company named "Gondor Industries" in the 14th book. (It may also be significant that Visser Three's host is named Alloran, a rough homonym of Gandalf's Valinorean name "Olórin", and that one of the minor alien races is called "the Five", which is also a term used in The Lord of the Rings for the Istarii.)

[edit] Themes
This article or section may contain original research or unverified claims.
Please improve the article by adding references. See the talk page for details. (May 2008)

Surprisingly, given its target audience of young teenage readers, Animorphs effectively and realistically deals with familiar themes pertaining to war. These themes include the horror of war but also its necessity in order to defend people's lives and freedom; the loss of innocence and the different effects of war on the mind and spirit; the moral and mental instabilities which must be adopted in times of war, such as "justified" and "impersonal" murder, "acceptable" losses, and dehumanization of both yourself and your enemy. Other themes include the universality of good and evil; the philosophy of complete nonviolence versus that of the just war; the absolute harshness, wildness, and complexity of nature as a living system; the nature of leadership; coping with loss and hardship; the difficulties of finding one's own identity and one's own place in the universe; adaptation, and alienation.

[edit] Characters
The names given here are the ones used throughout the majority of the series; in the last few books, some character's full names are revealed, and some change rank within their military hierarchy, hence changing name.

[edit] Animorphs
Jake
Rachel
Tobias
Cassie
Marco
Ax (also known as "Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill")

[edit] Relationships among the characters

[edit] Jake
Jake and Marco: Jake and Marco are described as being best friends since early childhood. While the two rarely display deep emotion for each other, in each of their narrations a special emphasis is placed on the loyalty of their friendship, and the bond the two share. Marco often acts as a direct counterpoint and relief to Jake's burdens of responsibility. During the series, their friendship is put to the test various times, specifically in books 30 and 31 when both question whether or not the other has the ability to preserve the group's secrecy when one of their family members is in jeopardy.
Jake and Cassie: A romantic relationship between Jake and Cassie develops slowly throughout the series, and the two finally kiss in book 26, prompting Rachel to say that "it was about time". By the time of #34, they've kissed several more times off-page; in this book Cassie acknowledges the love they have for each other, though neither of them have verbally articulated it. Towards the end of the series, Jake loses trust in Cassie and their relationship deteriorates rapidly as the war takes its toll on Jake's soul - however, they reconcile in the last stages of the war, even as Jake is constructing his final plan. In #53, they tell each other that they love each other, and Jake proposes to Cassie; however, she declines, instead consenting to marry him "a year after all of this is over". She had by then guessed that Jake had been changed too much by the war. After Rachel and Tom's deaths, she realizes that her suspicions were correct, and that Jake is irrevocably changed: he is too torn up by guilt about the deaths he caused to have a relationship with anyone, let alone a romantic bond with Cassie. After the war, Jake and Cassie lose touch and she moves on to another man.
Cassie presumably gets married to this man, though it isn't said in the book what happens after all the other animorphs ram their ship the "Rachel" into the alien ship.

Jake and Rachel: Despite being cousins, Jake and Rachel maintain one of the weakest relationships among the characters. Jake often wonders about Rachel's bloodthirsty nature, while the darker side of Rachel's mind wonders what would happen should she ever challenge Jake's leadership.
Jake and Tobias: As book #1 opens, Tobias and Jake are only vaguely acquainted: before the books began, Jake saved Tobias from a group of bullies, and Tobias latched on to Jake due to this act of kindness. For the vast majority of the series, Tobias staunchly believes in Jake's leadership and rarely ever questions his decisions. This drastically changes by the end of the final battle and Tobias never truly forgives Jake for his actions.
Jake and Ax: The relationship between Ax and his "Prince" is one of the more comedic relationships of the series. There is often respectful banter between the two, and in battle Jake trusts Ax's ability over all others. As the series progresses Ax begins to view Jake not only as a commander, but as a true friend.
Jake's favoured battle morph is a Siberian tiger.

[edit] Marco
Marco and Cassie: Marco and Cassie have very little interaction during the series. Cassie describes Marco as "cute" but not her type. Book 24 is a rare exception to this, as they are with each other for most of the book. They are the main opposing forces when it comes to debates of morality, with Marco advocating the "necessary evil" and Cassie acting as a constant moral voice. At the end of the series, there is a deep caring between the two, Cassie describes them as the only two "real survivors" of the war, since they both have prospered since its termination and stayed mentally and emotionally strong.
Marco and Rachel: Despite the occasional flirting between Marco and Rachel in the beginning of the series, their relationship never grows beyond bouts of playful insults (though in an alternate reality Rachel does agree to date Marco). Marco often ridicules Rachel's bloodthirsty nature, while Rachel is constantly annoyed with Marco's joking and whining. Nevertheless, they often find themselves on the same side of large issues, since both care more about the practicality of their actions than any moral concerns. Marco is the least affected by Rachel's death.
Marco and Tobias: In the early part of the series, Marco and Tobias find themselves on opposite sides of the spectrum. Marco teases Tobias's dweeby nature, while Tobias is annoyed by Marco's slacker attitude. As the series progresses, a playful banter begins between the two, and Tobias and Marco often find themselves pulling the other out of hot water, such as when Marco follows his mother to her office and Tobias helps him, or when Marco joins Tobias to meet his own mother.
Marco and Ax: Marco initially dislikes Ax, but as time goes on the two become very close friends. When Marco sacrifices his life as a student, he takes up residence at Ax's scoop, and their mutual intelligence and skill with computers lead to bonding between the two.
Marco's favoured battle morph is a gorilla.

[edit] Cassie
Cassie and Rachel: Cassie and Rachel begin the series as best friends and continue to be so until the guerilla warfare becomes open war. However, tension develops between them over the course of the series: Cassie is increasingly wary of Rachel's dark nature, and Rachel in turn becomes impatient with Cassie's morality.
Cassie and Tobias: Cassie and Tobias have very little one-on-one time. During most of the voting, the two stand by each other, being that both are guided by a strong moral compass. In #4, the two have dreams of the sea. Otherwise, their relationship is limited.
Cassie and Ax: Up until the later portion of the series, Ax and Cassie interact very little as well. When Ax meets a female Andalite who leaves him, Cassie provides him with a shoulder to cry on. Though Ax briefly feels strong hatred for Cassie, he quickly finds he has a strong bond with her as he does with the other Animorphs.
Cassie's favoured battle morph is a wolf.

[edit] Rachel
Rachel and Tobias: Rachel and Tobias have the most obvious romance of the series. While Cassie and Jake often state their attraction in their narrations, Rachel and Tobias openly act on their feelings. Both are very willing to scrap the mission in order to save the other, and whenever one is in danger the other becomes violent. Tobias and Rachel first kiss in book #33, The Illusion. Tobias' torture incurs blind rage within Rachel and her death drives Tobias into depression and isolation.
Rachel and Ax: Rachel and Ax very rarely interact. In Rachel's narrative, she seems to have an indifferent opinion towards Ax, save for valuing his ability in a fight. In Ax's narrative he often worries about Rachel's thirst for blood, and later in the series, openly shows his feelings on the matter.
Rachel's favoured attack morphs are grizzly bear and African elephant.

[edit] Tobias
Tobias and Ax: Similarly to Marco and Jake, Tobias and Ax are best friends, or shorms, an Andalite term meaning best friend. Translated literally, shorm means "tail blade": the expression is that a shorm is someone who you would trust to put their tail blade to your throat. Additionally, Ax is Tobias' uncle: Elfangor, Ax's brother, fathered Tobias while in human morph. It takes Ax's capture to shake Tobias out of his depression from losing Rachel.
Tobias's favoured battle morph is a red-tailed hawk which is the morph he is trapped in now, though he sometimes uses a Hork-Bajir morph in battle.
Tobias was often misunderstood, in his relationships and in his own perception of himself.

Yeerks need Kandrona.
Andalites have the natural ability to morph.
Humans (Or other species besides Andalites) can only morph with aid of the Blue box a piece of Andalite technology.
It takes place about 20 years from now.
The One is the deity who killed the original Animorphs(In this story that is. The series ended with "Ram the Blade Ship" on a cliff hanger...). He is also the main foe for now. (Note the name may change as new villains are introduced.)
Most Yeerks are now Peaceful, and can morph as of the ending of the animorphs. (Only the peaceful ones though)
Rogue Yeerks cannot morph.
The rest is explained in the first post.

OOC:

Andalite: Has no mouth in normal form. Has a body like a Sagitarius, a long tail with an axe like blade at the end, antennae on their heads and blue fur. Can morph naturally upon aquiring DNA by touch.

Yeerk: Basically an alien slug that can take over the brains of other species by crawling through the ear canal into the brain. They need Kandrona to suvive.

Human: ...'_'

OOC: Nothing really. If an Intermediate Morpher morphs in front of others, It isn't a pretty sight, but Advanced morphers make it an art form to quote Rachel. Sadly only Females, and Andalites have this much natural ability. (Except tomboys, theirs look as bad as a male morphing.)

OOC: Cassie isn't a better morpher than the others because of being female. The books repeatedly reference that her morphing skill comes from her love of animals... Duh. Also, I'm joining with Kar. His bio's in my topic.
