Name/Alias: Starr Johnson AKA Aurora
Age: 16
Power(s): Starr’s body has a powerful electromagnetic field that allows her to ionize atoms in her vicinity as well as interact with the Earth’s own magnetic field. This allows her to super charge the gases around her creating plasma as well as flight. The plasma she produces is generally purple in colour due to the richness of nitrogen in the air, though depending on her location (as well as her altitude); this may change due to the reaction in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Appearance: Starr is average height for a teenage girl standing at five feet five inches. She is slim, and almost fragile looking. Her skin is a soft pale peach tone and looks to have not gone through much arduous work. Her hair is light brown and long and her bangs are brushed to the side of her face and kept tucked behind her ears. Her eyes are hazel, predominantly green with flecks of brown and grey mixed in. They are wide and convey a sense of innocence. Overall she conveys the sense of your average school girl.

She commonly wears t-shirts with a long sleeved white shirt underneath and her hands partially in the sleeves up to the middle of her palms. She also wears various skinny jeans. On her feet she wears black flats with stylistic bows on the front. Starr also wears small diamond stud earrings and a silver necklace depicting a stylized star.

Personality: Starr is sweet. She’s the reliable and responsible one that adults can depend on to do as she’s told. Reserved, and quiet, she keeps to herself, preferring to lose herself in books rather than friend politics. That is not to say she doesn’t have friends, she is charming and has a “magnetic” personality. She knows how to please those around her and to calm others around her with gentle words and a sweet smile.

Regarding her powers she seems to be apathetic towards them. She neither loves, nor resents them, and rarely uses them. Had the utopian curriculum not require all students to learn how to use their powers in the most basic function, she would have not bothered to hone them at all.

Having lived in a utopian society all her life, her views of the outside world are skewed. She can’t quite comprehend why certain people do the things they do in the “outside world” such a murder or theft. To her they are senseless actions belonging to a primitive people.

Bio: Starr’s parents have always been thrill-seekers. They wanted to enjoy life to its fullest and find all the world had to offer. Gnosis’ offer was more than they could have dreamed; it was the ultimate adventure, a new enlightenment that they could be part of. They were both enlightened; her father Jack gaining the ability to manipulate weather and her mother the ability to control the growth of plants. Gnosis’ teachings truly struck a chord within their hearts and they soon found themselves permanently residing in Utopia, helping to maintain the gardens and agriculture of the society.

Starr’s birth was a miracle. Their first two attempts at having children resulted in miscarriages, but third time was apparently the charm, and she was born. The greatest question regarding Starr however was whether she too would have powers. Research had not yet gone into the residual affects enlightenment had on a foetus, and she was one of the first children to be born of enlightened parents. Their question was soon answered when she was discovered to create an energy field of plasma while she slept, though as soon as she awoke the shield disappeared.

Aside from the development of her powers, her life has been rather uneventful. She’s been a mild-mannered and successful student throughout her academic career. It was becoming apparent however that the atmosphere in Utopia had changed. More and more people left the hidden society in search of power, or having grown bored with Gnosis and his approach to life. Even her father was gradually becoming disillusioned as his own daughter was ignorant to the world outside of Utopia and he questioned whether Utopia was the best place to raise her. However despite this, the Thompson family remain staunch supporters of Gnosis.

The utopia has roughly been around for 20 years or so.

Name/Alias: Lucas Arnett / Lambent
Age: 43
Power(s): Lucas is capable of manipulating light. With it, he can do a range of things, from concentrating it into a searing beam to creating a blinding flash to bending it around his body to conceal himself. It is an ability that doesn't pack much of a physical punch, but is limited only by the imagination of its wielder. It also makes for really cool party tricks.

Appearance: Lucas's tall, lanky body constantly appears ragged and disheveled. He wears a stone-colored cotton jacket over a marred, black t-shirt, as well as a pair of khaki pants. The soles of his leather shoes are caked with dry mud and dirt, but he can't be bothered to clean them. He keeps his unruly, curly brown hair swept back, making the grey streaks beginning to form more apparent. His eyes are dull green points on his bearded face, the spark of life barely lingering in them.

Personality: Self-serving, Lucas puts his own needs before those of others. He learned early on that he could only depend on himself, and that's the mindset he clings to as if his life depends on it. He regards everything with a sort of general disinterest. He is typically cool and levelheaded, but an enormous, cynical prick.

Bio: At the age of eighteen, Lucas flew the nest, deciding to cut his losses with the parents who detested him. The feeling was mutual. They had always regarded him as a mistake, a pathetic failure destined to go nowhere in life, and his desire to prove them wrong was preceded only by his need to get out of dodge.
With nowhere to turn, Lucas passed the next two decades moving from dead-end job to dead-end job. Despite his sincerest efforts, his developing alcoholism barred him from ever escalating above the bottom rung of the social ladder. By that point, his only consolation was that his parents were dead. He blamed his failures and shortcomings on them and their misgivings toward him. He honestly believed he was miserable only because they had always wanted him to be, and that even in death, they were casting a foreboding shadow over his life.
Realizing that he would never be able to succeed until he put his petty resentments aside, Lucas desperately tried to find a psychologist who could help him. Try as he might, though, he simply couldn't afford to hire a proper shrink. He was on the edge of becoming resigned to his unfortunate fate when he heard from one of his few contacts that some philanthropist had set up a sort of society in the forests of the Northwest. Something to do with enlightenment. Out of options and rent money, Lucas decided that the best course of action would be to find this place and see if he couldn't get some much needed assistance.

Extra: At first his power was going to be luck but then I realized how stupid that would be.

Name/Alias: Kevin C. Freight/Red Winter (or "Red" for short)
Age: 34

Power(s): When angry, Kevin's body draws in large portions of heat from the air around him, making his surroundings very cold. The closer you are to him, and the angrier he is, the colder it is. Being within range for him to touch you could give you frostbite, for example. On the other hand, actually touching him would probably make you catch on fire. So you really just don't want to get near him in general. These powers are assisted by a special double-layered fireproof suit, with removable gloves (which, when removed, are magnetized to the sleeves so you don't lose them). While the inner layer is incredibly hot, the outer layer is very cold, so much so that touching it could encase your hand in ice. So he can essentially choose whether his punches will burn or freeze you to death. In any case, thanks to lots and lots of anger management, he can get a minor version of this to work at will, with the air around him only uncomfortably cold and his skin only able to give you oven burns (which still hurts a lot, but hey, you're not on fire). As a side effect of being able to withstand the deadly temperatures of his skin, he's entirely fireproof.

Appearance: He's about 6'6, and pretty muscular. He's Caucasian, and his thick brown hair is almost red. He has a well-groomed goatee, and perfectly white teeth. It's pretty obvious he takes good care of himself, in any case. His fireproof suit (which he wears at all times - the first time he used his abilities was incredibly embarrassing) is completely black, save his dark blue gloves, and covers his entire body except his head, though he wears equally black boots anyway. When angry, his skin glows a bright-red, and his hair turns almost perfectly white.

Personality: Thanks to lots and lots of anger management, he's an all-around friendly guy, as well as an optimist. However, he's very strong-headed, and if things don't go his way (even if purely by chance) he can get pretty annoyed, which he makes pretty obvious by "having a splitting headache", and "needing to go meditate", which he... actually does, because his body uses headaches as a warning sign to calm the heck down before you do something stupid. Though his 'meditating' is really more 'go punch a training dummy' than anything else. He's also a tad too trusting, and tends to believe people more based on appearances than anything else.

Of course, there's also his angry side. You'll know he's close to getting into this when he starts grating his teeth or rubbing his temples, and acting kind of impatient even when he's not waiting for anything. Once he IS angry, he's a tad dangerous to be around (for obvious reasons), and yells a whole lot, though he won't get physical unless someone REALLY provokes him. It's almost like an entirely different personality; he's rash, impatient, and not very empathetic at all. It can take a while to calm him down after this, though he usually feels bad about it afterwards. Luckily, it's pretty difficult to get him like this in the first place.

Bio: When Kevin was eighteen... well, see the bottom part of the personality section. He had zero friends, most of his family wanted nothing to do with him, was expelled so often he was eventually just home-schooled... only his mother really tried to help him, the others had had enough of his garbage. And she rarely got anything vaguely resembling gratitude for her trouble. He'd been in juvenile detention at least once, and had gone through so many psychiatrists and self-help people nobody else would take him. He didn't particularly care, but his mother was distraught, and they started getting in more fights than they ever had before, and she eventually became so stressed she died of a heart attack. This shook him up quite a bit, and he realized just how much of a jerk he was. He looked up the address of a place his mother had suggested, one far away from there, one they'd fought constantly over (him wanting nothing to do with "spiritual s***"), and eventually managed hold a job for long enough to get a train ticket to a place near it. After that, well, he became less angry, made some friends, and became in some eyes, a staple of the community.

Extra: He's very trained in terms of self-defense, so even without his powers he's a force to be reckoned with. Also, I'd imagine most people would know him pretty well at this point, as he's very social.

It was a toss up between plasma and bio/life energy type plant controlling life force throwing stuff. I was too lazy to explain the second one >.>

Here goes...:

Name: Derek Areoluos

Age: 18

Power(s): He can make clones of himself at will, and make them disappear, each with a different attribute i.e skill, power, speed, intelligence, defense etc. and also has another secret power that he doesn't know of yet.

Appearance: He is medium height. Perfect for his age. His skin is a nice dark tan color. He's not really muscular though. He also has thick black curly hair. He often wears a black cloak that his mother gave him on his 16th birthday that still fits. Often wears dark colors.

Personality: Sarcastic. Thinks he's a know-it-all, and often makes reckless decisions. If you become his friend, he'll treat you with a lot of respect. Head strong and bold, he mistakenly gets himself into a lot of trouble but somehow smooth talking his way out of it. If he sees something useful in a person he'll try to take advantage of it. Even though he is sour on the outside, on the inside he's a really great guy.

Bio: Derek and his mother were very close growing up. When Derek was young, his mother took him to get enlightened, to be more exact, on his 10th birthday. After words, they spent years to see what other clones he could do. They found about 9. However it wasn't the same with his father...

Derek's father didn't have a power for reasons unkown. He tried to get enlightened, but still didnt get a power. He was frustrated with it, and tried creating his own power, and failing every time. He often ask his son to test most of his unstable and dangerous chemicals, and surprisingly it didn't have much effect. He'd just have a headache. Derek's father hid his 'tests' from his wife. After much failures he gave up his quest. however, his assistant didn't give up. Derek's father's assistant was determined to get his master a power no matter what the cost. He created a 'secret power' that he thought would work. He shape shifted (his power) into Derek's father and made him take the 'secret power'. The result was that it actually made a permanent clone of Derek. The assistant was distraught and Derek tried to destroy his clone, both were on the verge of defeat and the clone ran away. Even so, the assistant was still persistent with his mission. He made another chemical named 'Power X' and this time shape shifted into Derek's mother and said "this will enhance your powers, son". Unknowingly, Derek took it, and nothing happened. Or so he thought.

After this whole incident, the family grew apart, Derek's mother finds out about all these experiments, became furious at Derek and her husband for not telling them, and runs away. Derek's father abandons Derek because of his embarrassment towards his son. The only person he had was his friend Josh.


Extra: He took special training and martial arts, as well as kick boxing to fend off bullies, so he can actually put up a fight without using his powers.
