His dashing taunt is pretty fun to do. It also helps him tell people not to try him while moving towards his bread at the same time.

I'm telling you guys, he isn't trying to protect his bread! It's a piece of cake!

How low can you get Falco's lasers? I can shoot Sandbag just below the eyes, although not consistently. Is it possible to hit a crouching puff/kirby?

You can't hit those characters that crouch that low at even ground. I know you can laser-lock quite a number of characters though; Bomberman, Sonic, Pac-Man, Kirby.

There is a timing where you can hit a crouching Sheik, but I can't hit a crouching Puff/Kirby no matter how hard I try.

Just run up and dash attack. is fast for a reason.

Lasers force an approach.

I've only played melee a few times, and I was trash at it, because I can't use a controller to save my life. When I started playing beta falco, I thought, "Wow, falco wins by literally doing nothing." Granted, I'm too impatient of a player to camp well, but lasers are really really good.

Lasers are important as a way of getting in, not just camping. They don't combo into anything, but if you get a read on what they like to do after they get lasered, you can really use that to your advantage. The master of this has always been PPMD (rip), and I think the way to optimizing Falco is to figure out how to laser.

I remember PPMD. He was what inspired me to main as soon as I had the chance.

I was playing a falco ditto with a rando online, and he did an interesting thing. It seems like bthrow>dtilt is a kill confirm on spacies and fastfallers. I haven't labbed this at all, but I think it's true regardless of DI on fox and falco.

The optimal DI for bthrow in the Falco ditto is down: if you do it right, you'll avoid the lasers entirely at most percents and be able to tech. If you get hit by the lasers, SDI Up + Shine is optimal to prevent followups, but with the right conditioning people will miss all of that and you can just dtilt lol.

Pretty sure you can autocancel a laser while landing on someone and downtilt for a KO. It's hella risky and hard to time, though.

Also, be very careful: even things that look like combos or work are often not, and cuz you're Falco even a single shieldgrab can be death. I think at most kill percents against most chars this works, though.
