So if I do this: llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

It comes up divided into lines instead of stretching the screen.

Likewise, if a picture is too big for the screen, it gets shrunk to a thumbnail or to fit the screen

Doesn't stretch the screen for me.

There's a scrollbar above your sig, though.

Yes, BUT! If you were to quote, you have to scroll a lot before you see the button, it makes it more
annoying to
press enter just so you don't end up annoying yourself with the "Scroll" on and on and on..

Point is, it's annoying with the long post thing. Pressing
End doesn't do anything.

It stretches my page since all of us use different desktops

I thought the forums handled that already... Well, there's definitely a mod for it out there but if I recall it would chop long links in half.

True, true. I'll see if I can find a phpBB3 alternative (post one here if you find it sooner)

I know phpBB3 automatically shortens internal links (example : viewtopic.php?f=42&t=20644), so maybe there's a module that does this with every link? Perhaps making every link automatically be displayed in URL tags Like so? Still, it's not really a big problem, or even a tiny nuisance, since most people that stretch the page do it on purpose, anyway.

but this stops people being a nuisance if it does it automatically.

I think the goal is to get text to wrap before we do anything else, but this is odd, I can't seem to find a mod for it. I'll keep looking

This is probably a problem on most forums, so there is probably a mod.

Also you could just use the [url=] bbcode. I agree, this is an irritating problem, but I'd be more worried about things like huge, screen-stretching images. You can tell people not to post stupidly long words that stretch the screen, but you can't really tell them "don't post that sprite sheet!". I brought this up awhile back, but nothing ever really came of it because the modification wasn't available. Stupid phpBB.

Who's gonna post a word that long, anyway? Except maybe the spam section if you're discussing disease names...
With links and pictures though, it's a problem. But I hate it when there are tiny little thumbnails.
