Many people from my understanding want shield angling as well as myself but I didn't know how to incorporate it until I saw one of Bomo's comments in the IRC chat. Forgot what specifically. My Idea: Regular Direction keys for angling and double tapping them for rolling. Doof's Idea:Hold run/walk keys + direction keys for angling and regular direction keys for rolling. Edit: Bomo reminded me to add buffering rolls with C-stick. Edit 2: This too please. If shield angling is added, will shield dropping be possible? Edit 3: Fixed what I got wrong with Doof's idea, added a question

Actually I meant the other way around; holding Walk/Run key makes you angle the shield.

if something doesn't get implemented, I'd rather shield-poking/stabbing ere just removed because I think it's stupid having it, mostly because it makes shield-breaking next to impossible to perform in this game with good pressure. I've only seen 1 shield-break in SSF2 (not with something like marth's shield breaker) and it's because the other player was stupid AF right here

Lol I've done a few shield breaks myself, but I will say shield stabbing is really annoying in this game. Shield break sauce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps7o1PHDXMghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgMn6GAVKU4

I think shield poking as a mechanic is important though, because otherwise shields are binary: either useful or broken. Poking adds depth to the mechanic and makes shield pressure and OoS game more interesting. Instead of just can you shield break or not, it's whether you can poke or stab instead.

if we do either of those they would definitely have to be toggled. that would be really annoying for the average person.
i think overall whenever we get the time to redo all of the shield sizes and make them not get as small before breaking that will help

why don't you just do shield angling with the c-stick? seems like the most intuitive option to me

Well, c-stick in shield in the main smash games is how you do buffered spotdodges/rolls/jump. It would be weird to veterans, but since we already have some buffering with the normal directions we might not need this as well. It does seem like a good idea, we've gone this far without c-stick buffering in shield, but it might be more intuitive with respect to the main games to find a way for the normal directions to work. It would be way easier too, no accidental rolls while trying to tilt your shield.

Next idea: What if C-Stick in shield works in the official games, and you can tilt your shield by pressing both the keys for the desired direction at once. That would allow veterans for thwir buffwred OoS stuff and also give us a quick nethod to angle it.

It would really hard to hold the shield button and press various c stick buttons on a keyboard without moving your hand entirely or bending your fingers awkwardly.
But I'm all for allowing the walk/run key to activate shield angling. Since I use WASD(which im sure alot of people use) and holding F wouldn't be hard/awkward at all.

Pressing the walk button seems to be the better option to me, but that's purely because I play on a controller. Not sure how great it would be for a keyboard.

That's really the only way to get it to work with a keyboard.
