Tried to make an account through my AOL, but it wouldn't let me, so I used my gmail instead. Is this a common problem and if so, is there a way to fix it?

Yeah, it's kind of an issue... AOL or Outlook won't work here, but supposedly they will work for the MGN.
I really think the registration should tell you this at least... It took me a few weeks to find out that it wasn't just some temporary issue, but a permanent issue the site has had with some e-mail services. I have a handful of accounts here that are locked forever (r.i.p.
