Good question; I think the ninja sketch took around 10 minutes. I find sketching with a pen very comfortable so it usually doesn't take me all that long. As for the design, I knew directly which influences I wanted to pull from and how I wanted the design to look as compared to Mage and Knight, although you'll find that when the design made the transission to sprites there were still quite a few changes still.

With the design for the Mech Class you'll see that I had more trouble coming up with a good coherent design (and I still haven't) and as such those sketches took me longer.

10 minutes??? im totally jealous of your pen skills, i struggle with just pencil man :////

I suppose it's the result of me tending to scribble an awful lot. I also tend to use quick, short strokes which I think compliments a pen really well, and sometimes drawing without planning ahead is suprisingly easier than sketching properly first;

i do the quick short strokes with pencil, so maybe trying that with pen wouldn't be too difficult
then again, i'm constantly using erasers when i draw so maybe not haha

That's actually how I do 99% of my drawings. I use a pencil when I know I won't be able to do it in one try.

My whole life right here.
For me it's also down to preference since I've been using pens to draw for a long time, I've come to learn how to do stuff without having to retry to get it.

No actually, these are for a board game I'm developing to play with friends, where the stats will come into play.

You're going to make cards and all? Amazong! I did something similar where I drew cards of my classmates Yu-Gi-Oh-like but my teacher didn't think it was a good idea since I would make people strong and people weak which could lead into some sort of bullying... but everything was balanced ;-; and I made sure that situation wouldn't happen.

They're so adorable Steven

You have so many styles, and each one is amazing. Your use of colors are nice as well. Do you have a certain palette by chance?

Thanks! and good question;

I consider palettes to be my absolute weak point. I follow Colourpod on Tumblr which updates cool colour palletes for artists to use and where I pull inspiration from. I'll post the link below:

Yeah, at points your colors can be really bad.

Okay.

Anyway, next up is the alchemist/healer class. This is the first take, so I'm most likely gonna make small adjustements later. I'll upload the character sketch later.

Her hair in the drawings is a lot cuter smh so I'm going to try to adjust the sprite likewise now that the base is complete.

There we go

More fixes on the units will come down the road, but will most likely be done after I finish a new unit
