just use the action "Set the value of a the variable" to make it change when you do something

How do I make it so that when my player changes into his attack sprite on the sword part of the attack damages the enemy not the whole sprite. Please answer. also at the above post you need pro to make online. http://www.yoyogames.com/make/tutorials . the second to last tutorial will show you how to make online it is called multi player games.

easy, just make a separate sprite of the sword and make it an object and tell people to get hurt when the collision occurs and when you press a certain key make the event "keyboard (what ever key here)" and make it change the sprite to the attack sprite and under the section main 1 i think is the create an "instance of an object" and make the sword appear. but to make it in front of you if you are facing right make the sword appear to the right of you so make it so in the X box write in 20 RELATIVE!(depends on size of sprites) and if you are facing left put -20 RELATIVE!(again, depends on size of sprite) so did i miss anything?

alright, well im making a zelda game and am trying to program the octoroks so that when they collide with a tree they start moving the opposite way and shoot a pellet/bullet/whatever, but when they hit the trees they just start spinning in circles shooting all over the place :?
