it's weird, it's not a great controller overall but the button placement and layout make it basically perfect for melee

Brawl, too.

the correct controller to use for brawl is the one where you just play melee instead

I prefer to use a D-pad, personally

I hope there's an option for that in sm4sh

You actually can't bind movement to the dpad on the classic controller in Brawl for some f*** reason

The word Gamecube-inspired still makes me a bit paranoid. I want a model that doesn't deviate from anything, but still has all the functions.

Not even a SLIGHT shape change. Maybe more buttons in the center, for Wii-U functions.

Maybe this, or something along these lines:

Hell, that one even lacks a button where Z was, and the replacement C-stick looks bigger. Redo that one too, internet. Jeez.

You're being the worst type of fan right now.

I'm also assuming you've never felt the wii u pro controller.

more importantly tap vs tilt doesn't really work on a d-pad

The only real problem is up tilt, which is effectively impossible to do

My problem with the stick is that I end up accidentally jumping like a moron

If you could turn off jumping with the stick and only use X/Y it'd be brilliant

Maybe I'll go look

As soon as you do. I'm feeling good today, so off my dick, b****.

I know about the Wii-U Pro Controller, and it's great... but I wasn't talking about it. I was talking about a controller that would mimic the GC one, which I would like to be a literal GC one with minor changes. It doesn't mean I'll throw a fit if it ends up being different from I see.
Not like anyone f*** cares, but hey.

I'm pretty sure I'll be too broke to get one anyway, but it's my right to dream, innit? I dream of what I described.

Term, is it just a problem of yours that up tilts are hard? I find it easier to do after getting a feel of what counts as a tilt. It's not impossible at all. :I

I am behind an option to cancel the stick as a jumping method, though. Control Options are always good.

Real Smash doesn't have the option, SSF2 does.

EDIT: I didn't see it, and I'm too lazy to hook that thing back up, but apparently Brawl has an option for disabling tap jump. People on other forums say it's a little unfamiliar and makes Up-functions harder out of shield or summat, others say it feels great. Thanks, Geno.

You can turn tap jump off in brawl.

Utilts are difficult to perform with Dpad controls, otherwise they arent that hard to do, even with tap jump on.

Im happy with the Pro Controller, ive long since moved on from the GC controller since Brawl (used the Classic controller), and havent looked back since. Pro Controller is pretty comfortable though, hopefully its a nice adjustment for those that loved the GC controller for smash.

It's a shame I didn't hear about this until after Brawl's online was dead

Ultimately I just think controlling characters on a 2D plane with a joystick is really uncomfortable
