Still, I only counted unique characters (I even left out semi-clones like Luigi and Falco)
What is the roster size that would be perfect for you?

I'd be happy too! Please. So I might actually try to main either Pit or Dark Pit, maybe more of Dark Pit since I like the look of his moves a bit more.

I was gonna try Peach or Luigi because I've always just liked how Peach played but never got around to playing her, and Luigi just because I like Luigi. _________________

So my list I'm wanting to main so far is: Lucina, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, Zero Suit Samus and Palutena without the tons of custom moves.
I love Dr. Mario is my 2nd main in melee behind Roy which is why I want to main Lucina, Pit and ZSS are my mains in brawl, and Palutena just looks awesome.
