I played the hell out of the first one. Little did I know that AC2 trumps it in every way possible. I seriously love this game, it's amazing. I'm trying every weapon I can obtain just for the different kill animations. The second Assassins Tomb is one of my favorite parts of the game. Such a perfect throwback to Prince of Persia.

I love AC2. It doesn't exactly have the best combat, (counter...counter...counter...counter...) but I love the story and atmosphere. They fixed up the combat in Brotherhood and Revelations, and Brotherhood is almost as good as AC2 if not a little better. Revelations is just kinda the same game in a new setting. Can't wait for AC3, it looks incredibly badass with naval battles and hundreds of on-screen characters at once.

The first assassin's creed had arguably the best combat because it was far more challenging then the other assassin's creed games.(at least in the beginning.) The story was lacking though and quest felt so repetitive and tedious.
The second assassin's creed had the best story and had a lot of polish. The new setting perfectly fitted in with the free running mechanics and shops were a very good addition. The character development of ezio was well handled and managing the villa along with collecting all the feathers were a nice diversion as well.
Brother hood felt so easy especially when you get the crossbow and the assassin call. Not only that, but the game was filled with glitches. The combat felt nicer, but it again made things way to easy. However brotherhood did have a larger sense of player impact on the city of Rome then the villa in AC2 and the ending was also really unexpected.
Revelation felt lazy, the story wasn't as interesting as the others, the combat still felt easy as hell, and the addition of bombs made things even easier. The hook blade was a really cool idea though and I like how the they wrap up the stories of both Altair and ezio.

I'm glad I did all the tombs, the armor is so worth it. How far am I to the end? I killed one of the two Orsi brother and saved the kids.

Holy s***, Brotherhood has such refreshing combat. And with no stupid DRM, it's running better.

1 had the most challenging combat, until you heard about the hidden blade counter and suddenly everything died in one hit if you could do some basic timing.
2 had a lot more variation, and Brotherhood piled some more onto that... Revelations, not so much, but bombs were an interesting addition.
I'm looking forward to 3, but I can't really decide if I should stick to console (played 'em all on PS3 so far) or make the switch to PC... How were the controls for 2 on PC? I remember them being pretty s*** for 1.

high profile and low profile are changed by holding down the right mouse button by default head is e legs is space arms is left click and whatever the other one was is shift
the controls are fine with shift being the only exception

That... Sounds a lot better than how it was in AC1... Standard WASD controls, I'm assuming? Space to sprint, E to use, left click to murder, right click to murder in STYLE... Yeah, this could work... Shift sounds annoying, though, considering where your fingers are going to be.

um you really just press forward and move the camera with the mouse in the direction you're going and hold space to freerun
edit: also the pc versions have a habit of being delayed a month or so from the ps3/360 releases with III not being an exception. for christ's sakes, the wii u gets it before PC

Yeah... I might just keep going for PS3 version, then, especially since the PC version might be loaded with invasive DRM again. Also think the controls fit a gamepad better, so far.

Don't worry, Ubisoft's dumb. But they're not THAT dumb. But they could f*** up optimization again so maybe console is the better choice unless you have a monster PC.
