Well, anyone got anything to contribute on the matchups front?

I know this is a double post, but it's time to revive the Sora playerbase and metagame.

I'm gonna start by contributing matchups, I'd like the other players to do the same because Sora's metagame is in disarray.

Sora and DK: (45:55)
This matchup is hard for Sora. As most of you know, Sora's finishers are less than spectacular, and DK is a heavyweight with good momentum cancelling abilities. Furthermore, combine this with good DI with DK and that monkey will be hanging around for a good long while. This doesn't help Sora. Also, Sora is light, and DK has the strength of...well...a great ape. Also, he has a LOT of meteors, which are any Sora's worst nightmare.

However, Sora isn't completely at a loss. DK is fairly vulnerable when he's recovering, so the important thing is to land the F-Smash when he's recovering. If it hits near the top, he won't armour his way through it. Also, DK has a large frame, so he has a fairly large hurtbox. This means you shouldn't have too much trouble comboing him. He also can't powershield from the front, so that helps you.

Stages:
Ban - WarioWare, Yoshi's Story, Battlefield.
These stages are small, DK has range. Not a good mix against you. Prepare to be overwhelmed.

BF should also be added to ban as that stage is clearly to small and DK too large..never play sora against marf and dk on BF..or as wooly said prepare to get stocked...

MML dropped him, Silver probably dropped him, and Afro and DS aren't Sora mains.

Why did they drop him? We dont need another Wario-like represenattion... I tried him, but I cant get uswd to the fact that I cant kill at all. I mias Firaga... Ill give him another try in Beta, but as for now hes nothing more than a char I will look again later.

Naah i still main him but i have put him on hiatus till beta...........

He can get people to 100% in 1 combo and fair is a good killing tool at 120%+. I might also be used to playing characters that have trouble killing too, besides Bomberman.

"Strike Raid Canceling"

Just as the name states, it's the act of canceling out of Strike Raid.

As you saw from the gfycat, it's very easy to perform. All you do is Bair, and right before you land, use Strike Raid and it'll cancel out the attack completely letting you perform anything afterwards (literally anything).

And you instantly become the first notable Sora player! Congrats on the find ^.^

Guys i found it, for many ages people have been looking for a decent kill move with Sora i found it its *gets shot and killed*

On a unrelated note, was canceling the first hit of flow motion discussed? I feel like its a viable technique.

Yep, it can only be done with Bair. And if you Ledge-Cancel Strike raid, Sora doesn't float in midair like he does normally.

And about that FM canceling, I think most people who play Sora already know about that technique, and about it's viability, I think it could be useful, since it can catch your opponents off guard and put them in some nasty setups.

I haven't really tested it much on most legal stages, but so far it stage spikes on SV and DL.
