The Super Smash Flash 2 Back Room proudly presents FLASH FRIDAY! Yes, another tournament pops up at the sky of SSF2! And its even on a Friday (obviously), which means no overlapping with other tourneys!

ANNOUNCEMENT: SAVE THE REPLAYS of your matches and PUT THEM AS ATTACHMENTS!

Tournament is held on July 24th, 4:00 PM EDT (Thats 16:00 if you didnt figure it out; get a time calculator if neccessary).

Go HERE if you dont want to be kicked: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.rizon.ne ... smashflash
HERE is the bracket: http://challonge.com/Flash_Friday

So... Theres been a lot of discussion about Mirror Chamber being banned and the like... So the SFBR decided to go try a completely different stagelist for this Tournament:

STAGELIST:

* Mirror Chamber
* Clock Town
* Casino Night Zone
* Central Highway (Hazards ON)
* Bowser´s Castle

Yes, we´re serious, this is indeed the stagelist. But before you turn away thinking "TFW you moron", let me elaborate. Like stated above, there has been a discussion about certain stages being legal, fused semi-fused etc. This tourney is basically a test run in which the competitive viability of each of these stages shall be tested. This also is the reason why Gentleman´s Clause is NOT in affect for this tourney. So by entering this tourney, you also help the competitive side of SSF2! (And you also get a free stage John for losing.)

RULESET:

* 4 stocks, 8 minutes format.
* Double Elimination (Yes Lunary, Double Elimination. Deal with it.)
*Items and Hazards are OFF with the excetion of Central Highway, which has always Hazrds ON. Items stay OFF however.
* No special modes. Doh.
* Sets are Best of 3; Winners, Losers and Grand Finals however are Best of 5.

Set procedure:

1.) Both players pick their character for Game 1 without telling their opponent who they play as. Lying about that leads to match loss.
2.) Players then proceed to strike stages as following: 1-2-2-1. The player who hosts the room strikes first.
3.) After each match, the winner declares if he changes characters before anything else. After that, the loser can decide wether or not he changes character and also declares this.
4.) The winner of Game 1 strikes two stages from the list above, leaving the choice of stage to the loser of the previous match. You cannot counterpick the stage you last won on in a Bo3, but in Bo5, you are free to do so.
5.) Repeat this procedure until the winner of the set is determined.

* If the game desynchs multiple times or is laggy to the point of being unplayable, contact the TO who will then decide how to continue the set.
* If the time runs out, the player with the most remaining stocks wins. If stocks are even, the player with less damage wins. Hitting your opponent after the time is up doesnt count, look at the % to determine this. If both stocks and percentage are even, a tie breaker with 1 stock, 3 minutes is played on the same stage with the same characters.
* If one player ends the match with a move that kills both players, the user of said move wins regardless of the Victory Results Screen if the user had more or the same number of stocks than his opponent before using the move.
* Disconnecting during a match on purpose always results in a match loss. If a desynch occurs, save the replay for further investigation if a debate should arise wether it was a desynch or not; dont pull a Noghrilla please.
* Stalling is not allowed. This inclued running around the stage purposely avoiding a fight by abusing moves like Rising Pound or repeated usage of Tethers and the like, inifintes past 150% and going under and/or around the stage for other purposes than recovery more than once a stock. Moving around the stage to get better positioning is not considered stalling.
* If the game glitches, a rematch has to be done under any circumstances, unless both players agree otherwise.

Thats it for the more important stuff. If you have any questions, just ask them :)

Aaaand we done. Had everything a testrun needed: Accidents, ppl joining YET whining about the stagelist (Im looking at you DJS), Kyoz taking things WAY too far and confusion wether Clock Town refers to the vanilla stage or the modded one. But before I get lost in rants, Ill share my thoughts on the stagelist:

* Bowser´s Castle: HELL NO. The stage is ridicoulously small, giving heavy characters a big advantage. Im not against small, but dieing because my head is outside the screen while the rest of my body is still inside seems kinda lame to me.The gap in the middle is a neutral killer for those who dont have a strong projectile game and to a lesser extent rushdown chars. I might be biased at this stage, but thats my opinion. On the bright sight, I would consider this MMs best stage. This and thef act that it has awesome music.

* Mirror Chamber: POSSIBLE AS A CP. The layout is controversial (basically WW in big with one more platform that helps Marth and the like) and the middle platform really is a factor for the match. However, Ive never seen that huge of a struggle even when I was trapped on this platform with a Marth/DK below me, so I might be underestimating it... But imo, its a pretty sokid Counterpick.

* Casino Night Zone: POSSIBLE AS A CP. Yep, Im serious. The size of the stage and the layout helps out campier chars like MM, Samus,B(B)M and thehave enoug placeto run away as well. The middle part of the main platform however is... wonky. Samus can fire Super Missiles THROUGH the solid platforms while being protected herself and this applies for other projectiles as well. The side blastzone are really small again, but given the size of the stage, I think its okay for this one. I actually see this as a possible CP for future tournaments.

* Central Highway: POSSIBLE CP WITH HAZARDS ON. The initial stage allows for camping and is WAY too big, but it soon shrinks to a size that is pertty small while conserving the huge blastzones however. This stage once again ha a layout that favors Marth, DK and the like with the upper platform being all over the main one. Like with Mirror Chamber, I never had too much of a struggle, so I might not see the full list of the #BANNED reasoning.

* Clock Town: NOT LEGAL. At first I thought this stage might have potential, but once I played there... The gap in the middle slows the fight down extremely as most characters have to approach in one extremely telegraphed way, making spacing game extremely strong if played well. The stage also encourages camping around the stage/side platforms, espacially if you are faster than your opponent. From my little experience here, you can not have a proper fight here. #BANNED

Keep in mind that this is my opinion, feel free to put yours below.

Oh yeah, results...

1st: Kyoz (SURPRISE)
2nd: Zair (I am serious)
3rd: erod
4th: dope
5th: Infamous and Marvin
7th: Z and FrenchKissHey
9th: SkaiNoob, DJS, HentaiNinja and Drarky
13th (did not attend): Bowler, Epicsteve, TyranitarLord, IronH, SilverEvil
