i'm still upset they showed five mario characters before showing more than two for any other franchises

But Sakurai himself said something along the lines of " I don't want to over-represent the Mario franchise" in an interview.

Honestly Mario could have ten characters with a roster this size and it wouldn't be too much. Pokemon and Zelda too

Here's the latest leak guys. This one is 100% real for sure. I work for ESRB after all.

there's literally never evidence to support a leak until the game comes out and the leak turns out to have been correct. it doesn't matter how convincing or realistic or well polished the images look. it's just the magic of photoshop. i could photoshop a picture of hitler at a club doing shots with neil armstrong and napoleon and it could be the most amazingly professional image doctoring you've ever seen with absolutely no flaws or giveaways in the image but it didn't f*** happen and there's no reason to think that it did.
it is the year 2014 and i'd think we're well and truly past the point of a still image being definitive evidence of anything.

What's worse?
The fact that people believe the leak
or the fact that people are reposting bad debunks

No one claimed that they thought the leak was definitely true, in fact most everyone agreed that it was probably fake. That doesn't mean we can't post/discuss it though.

i don't get what you're trying to say here. are you mocking people for believing a leak that has evidence supporting it plus convincing artwork and pictures to boot? we don't mock your opinions. we can if you want, though, i'm all up for it.

i myself never stated we should all believe it but i rather said we shouldn't discredit it. nobody is here saying that it's real.

How exactly is this leak any different from the other ones? They're all fake. Literally ANYONE can make photos like those ones.
You've seen the other select screen "leaks" right? this is no different.

Just playing devil advocate, but I don't think ANYONE can do a good render for a character. Sure, it can be faked, but is not in the ANYONE category. Also leaks have been correct before and it has been "disproven" (although that is a bad argument because others being correct does not mean this specific one is correct) like Greninja and Hawlucha, all the gen 5 evos, and Melee and Brawl rosters. So not every leak is fake, unless you are only talking about Sm4sh, and then everyone applied the same argument to all those previous leaks.

It does not mean that this is leak is true, but your arguments aren't good ones
