This, the newest Studio Ghibli Film, Directed by Hayao Miyazaki himself (his last film, also his first film since Ponyo) was absolutely amazing. It's based on the true life of Jiro Horikoshi, an engineer of many fighter jets in World War II, though it's highly fictionalized. As many of you may know, Miyazaki has a great fascination with airplanes. I can only imagine that this, his last film, was his dream project. The name Studio Ghibli itself comes from the nickname of an aircraft used in World War II, made by Giovanni Caproni. (He also appears in the movie several times). I loved this film, and highly recommend it. If you're a fan of Studio Ghibli already (Who isn't?) then you probably don't need much convincing. It was beautiful!

Has anyone else seen it yet?

I think I will watch it, sounds pretty good.
And if you haven't watched it, I recommend you "Arietty", is beautiful as well.

It's Miyazaki's last film, if you're a fan you should definitely see it.

I saw Arietty, I enjoyed it, everything but the ending. Overall it was very good though.

I just saw From Up On Poppy Hill not too long ago too.

Maybe I should change the topic to just Studio Ghibli :P

I always loved those films, not only the plot but the artwork and animation are genius as well.
Right after I finish writing this I will go straight to watch it. :colonthree:

Unfortunately It didn't win the oscar last night =\

I mean I knew Frozen was most likely going to win, but I really thought the academy might give it to the more deserving farewell masterpiece by Miyazaki.
