Alright, I got a message saying there was a Wii Menu update. I decided to get it, but it said it couldn't update it and I should check my internet connections.

I did so, I tested it, it works fine. I am playing Brawl online, no problems whatsoever.

So, is there some sort of explanation or is this just merely random?

Here's what you should do

1. Don't download any wii updates
2. ???
3. PROFIT!!!

Seriously, updating's usually a waste of time. The last three have just been about removing the homebrew channel and that's it.

If I recall, aren't the updates mandatory?

The only thing that stops working if you don't upgrade is the shop. I'm fairly sure if that's a problem, you can just transfer games from other wiis.

Well, if the Wii can't connect to the update server...then it's just that. Your Wii can't connect to the update server..but that's OK that's not the only way you can update. :P

Most games usually have updates right on the disc. The latest update is 4.3 IIRC, and Donkey Kong Country Returns has that update on the disc. So if you just want to update to 4.3, just borrow the game from a friend. :E

You may wanna check the dates.
Oh, and I already got the update without knowing by getting Donkey Kong Country Returns.
So yeah, I should lock this. :lock:
