The temporary ban seems like a good idea, but I would've been kind of pissed to come back after my change of heart to a banned account.

But wait. If you need some "time off", you're obviously not gonna come back until your time is off... So why would you have to be banned...

Then again... New people who say they are leaving for awhile might take getting banned as a negative message, which, in this case, isn't exactly true... And they won't feel welcome here, so they'll leave forever, maybe.
