New Super Mario themed Amiibos will be launched March 20th



The set currently includes Bowser, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi and Toad. Most of these characters already had their Amiibos in the Smash line, and it has been confirmed that the chracters will be able to unlock the same content (the Smash Mario and Super Mario Amiibo can both unlock the Mario costume in Mario Kart 8 for example).

The one that stands out in particular here in Toad since this is the first Amiibo he'll be getting. The Toad Amiibo can unlock an additional hide and seek game in Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.

The fourth wave for Smash has also been confirmed to include Wario, Lucina, Charizard, Robin and Pac-Man. All the Fire Emblem Amiibos will be compatible with Project S.T.E.A.M. as well, where they can unlock the characters as special units.


Anyone gonna buy some from the Super Mario line? I already have Mario&Luigi from the Smash line and I'm not that inerested in buying them from another line (though the Luigi does have a better pose lol). Toad is tempting but I think I'm gonna pass. I hope the Super Mario line will include Waluigi and Tanooki Mario in the future.
