This just in, a mystery character has recently defeated Captain Falcon and Ness in an event unrelated to the smash bros tourney, apparently the character left behind a baseball and golf shoes, it is our only clue to the identity of the mystery character. Both Ness and Captain Falcon are fine though.

Just in: Sonic is out! Sonic the Hedgehog, the famous SEGA character, has been removed temporairly from the brawl roster after he tripped down the stairs on the 'temple' level and broke one of his legs, doctors say his condition is ok and he will be back within a month.

This just in: a recent interview with Knuckles the Echidna reveals why he is not in Brawl. Knuckles says:
"It's a funny story, actually. I was training on the sandbag, when I somehow struck a glass wall. I had HUGE shards of glass in my arm, and so the procedure for removal was long.
